Where does Opie's level of fame rank on a celebrity scale?

When actors make a movie and start promoting it, sounds like they'll be in NY or LA and small city local tv stations will send an entertainment interviewer there. The actor will sit in a studio and they'll get interviewed by one after another of these small market correspondents. I don't know how many they'd do but have seen youtube videos of one after another and you can bet afterwards whoever they talked to is a blur.

Usually on a celebrity fame ranking, anybody doing tv ranks higher than someone doing radio. Radio is the bottom of the barrel. However, opie is at the top of that sector and is national. So he'd rank higher than let's say somebody working at a college radio station in the middle of nowhere. I'd say because he's national even though it's radio, he'd still rank higher than some small market tv correspondent. But he isn't at the top of radio, you'd have to look at others at sirius and opie would probably rank fairly low there. So even though he's at the top of the radio heap, at the top he ranks low.

Maybe you can sort of get an idea of someone's fame ranking based on twitter followers. But with opie's twitter followers, it's been proven here based on history graphs that spikes are suspicious. You look at lady di and bobo's fake followers, seems to be around a couple hundred thousand that opie might be inflated by. He'd probably be somewhere around what Anthony has. He's at 180k. Opie spends most of his spare time trying to plug his youtube so he'd have a bit extra. Probably somewhere around 200k. Right now he's at 323k and you know damn well that's incorrect. Most i'd give him is 250k.

dianaorbani777 is at 101k and the normal amount there would probably be around 1k. bobo103nyc is at 239k which is awfully suspicious. Meaning there's a good couple hundred thousand there that are probably questionable from opie's account. Bobo might be around 39k. Opie's 323 minus 200 would put him at 123 which is close to ant's 180. Anthony is more liked than opie so let's give opie 150k for all his viral video efforts. That's not too good for being at the top of the radio field on a national platform.

Looked around for a twitter ranking site to see where 150k followers would be. Most ranking sites stop at top 1000 which is around 2M. Was tricky but managed to find a ranking site which could sink as low as opie's actual follower count of 150k.

Let's checkout where 150k stops and goes to 149k. Opie's actual level of fame would be similar to these people.

This would be his actual twitter followers rank: Showing 35,501 - 35,550.

Let's see who's on that page. A real bunch of nobodys. Meanwhile opie thinks he's king shit. I can see why he's such a crabby fuck who's pissed off at the world. Because the reality is a different situation than what he thinks of himself. Hows those for some "numbers", sirius.

TL;DR: opie's actual twitter follower count of 150k ranks him at 35,500. Not worth the millions he's getting over-paid.

Fuck all this twitter bullshit.

The real metric the entertainment industry listens to, and cares about, is your Q Score.

Gregg Hughes has no Q rating. Neither does Anthony. Jimmy qualified for one season.

Also, consider how many celebs - low, mid, and high, have come in and have no clue who they are. Howard Stern, most people have heard of. O&A? Most people haven't. O&A didn't get very big on the west coast ever, even on XM. They're simply not celebrities.

I don't think O&A are really known outside of the north east part of the country. Except by truck drivers.

When a B list celeb takes a shit then flushes and there is a little speck of shit still stuck to the side of the toilet bowl, that speck of shit has 1000 times the celebrity status of Opie.

Nobody I know ever heard Opie or Anthony (their show was never here).. their fame is only within the people who tuned in when they were being broadcasted in multiple cities... It started to diminish the minute they went to XM.

I never heard of them till XM, and I'm sure their base, which is truckers, hadn't either. XM gave them national recognition, whereas terrestrial (pre-xm) limited their fame to the NYC market. I wouldn't say they started losing their fame when they hit XM, but rather the opposite.

Below tan mom but above golden throated homeless radio dj.

Thanks for this

Opie is like a jock in Rochester - everyone there listens, because it's the only radio station that plays rock. Replace him, he's forgotten in a week, and his "fame" would be being recognized once in a while, in a pizza place or something. 'Hey, weren't you that guy on the radio?"

The only difference is, his market is spread out over parts of the country. So his recognition is even worse.

I'd bet that 1 out of maybe 500 people in Manhattan have a clue who he is, on the street. MAYBE. I have a ton of family in NYC and Westchester, and none of them have ever listened to O&A, or even know who they are.

To anyone who listens to the show, he's "famous". To the average person on the street, or anyone in the music or entertainment field? He's a complete unknown, or "Oh, yeah, I kind of remember them" if you prod them enough. Only comics know the show, from Jimmy and the small (and dwindling) group of friends of the show.

If I saw him on the street, I would recognize him - and I hate myself for that.

The prank guy from Who gets the last laugh is more famous.

I'm not reading all that.
