Can someone recommend a year of The O&A Show to listen to?

I made it all the way through 2004 and I'm halfway through Jan 2005, but it's honestly boring me plus it feels so douchey.

I remember hearing 2010-2012 was their best stuff although I haven't gotten the chance to listen to it

I like everything after they lost terrestrial for the final time. So pretty much '09 and on.

I'll second that. I listened from 2006 to a few months ago, and 2010-2012 is probably my favorite era, too.

2010-2012 are my favorite years.

2006-2009. Any of them years. Patrice and Louie were frequent guests.

Honestly loved everything from 2007 on. That's when I was a senior in high school and had xm in my car and started listening regularly. A lot of Louis, Patrice, Burr and Bobby in these years too.

I thought 2008 was really good. The Jill Nicolini saga was awesome.

The Nicolini thing had a crazier narrative than anything any fake reality show has ever tried to stage. Since Patton Oswalt loves listening to O&A sagas I hope he stumbles on that one.

You also have to include Anthony going on the Lazlow show after they broke up, where he breaks the news to Patrice. Probably one of my favorite Patrice moments ever.

If I had to break down by era
WAAF- Growing pains lots of jocktober worthy stuff.
WNEW- The peak of their popularity but very shock jockish. Interesting to listen to as there isn't anything like it on radio. The stunts and general craziness is interesting. But there really isn't any shock value listening to radio stunts in the age of the internet. Although you do hear from a lot of interesting comedians.
XM 2004-2006 - The transition. Still somewhat shock jock but they definately were more interested in putting up comedy content. A good amount of Patrice in this era too.
Return to FM 2006-2009 - The peak years in my opinion. The free fm/k-rock stuff is hit or miss but their XM stuff from this era is the best. The comedians they had access to in this era was crazy Louie, Patrice, Oswlat, Geraldo, Burr, Kelly, Vos, Regan, ect all were frequent guests.
Return to XM only 2009-2011- Some of their best work. Patrice was still killing it and the comedians while less frequent were still coming on regularly.
Later XM days 2012-2014- Good stuff but not great. Opie stopped producing the show, Anthony started to monopolize the show with his political views, and Jimmy didn't have the energy or time to battle Ant. Patrice also wasn't there to combat Ant either. Its good but its like the later seasons of a TV show that use to be good, just not what it once was.

Douchey? You don't know douchey. I'm currently cruising through December '98, and let me tell you, it doesn't get douchier than the Tuesday Night Hummer Club

I started the NEW Years too a while back, I only got through about 5 shows. Granted they're worse but the early XM stuff isn't that far in front.

Mother Fuckin Donkey Sausage.
I cannot believe they tried to run with it and that stupid girl.

Yeah I'm gonna listen straight through for the hell of it. Around 2000 things get really good, once Jimmy comes around

True, but it was pretty cool for over the air radio at the time.

That's the thing, for 1998 terrestrial radio, that was what edgy was. By today's standards, it's hack, but back then not so much.

This. Same with 2005, if I had listened to them at the time I probably would have enjoyed them more, but it's 10 years later and radio has changed.

I got those torrents too. 2007-2009 are the consistently best years imo.

I'm a fan of 2009

OP, my source is that I was a daily listener for the better part of a decade.
Seek out the Intern David saga from Fall 2008. If you want great modern O&A, start there. Honestly, sometime after Patrice dies in late 2011, the show starts it's slow but steady decline. It probably stated prior to that quite honestly, but that's when I remember the show starting to fall off, possibly because they spent months and months mourning.
I remember that I enjoyed listening all the way through the end of 2012. But sometime after Hurricane Sandy in late 2012, and maybe even early 2013, it started to get pretty arduous. On the plus side, Opie and Anthony were on great terms with each other, which was rare for this whole "2008 and beyond" time span. If you do go into 2013, there are some great, great moments. For example, Tequila & Donut Day from March 2013 was especially memorable, and worth a listen right now.
A couple of notes: Every Jocktober is great. But don't marathon them. I think other diehards will agree that by the 3rd week (and especially the 4th week) Jocktober starts to lose it's steam. And I think EVERYthing with Patrice and Louis is great and is worth listening to. Don't skip those.

2009-12 were great.

As much as they hated it, the years that they were on air & xm were some great years.
