When did you stop listening?

Just curious to see when everyone stopped listening to the show after Ant got fired. I gave it 3 weeks before I found the show unlistenable and switched to Ron & Fez.

"Management loves the show" - game over for me

I stopped listening the day after the first show back since Ant got fired. I didn't do it out of anger or malice, it just wasn't the same. I now watch Ant's show pretty often, but not religiously.

I lasted and tried for about a week past that. Same deal, just didn't like what I was hearing so I moved on. I subscribe to ants show, he's got some good moments but I'm questioning if I'm going to resub after it's up as most of his shows are "ok" but not great. The whole talking to himself thing just isn't working - he needs someone to bounce off of that's actually funny.

Just isn't the same either way you go. ;-/

Yeah man I know what you mean, it's like for me Ant's show is the closest thing to O&A that I can get considering O&J is where comedy goes to die nowadays. That's not Jim's fault, obviously.

After the kind of recovery week or two which followed Ant's firing. There was a little patch with Gervais, Pete Rose and a few other funny shows where there was kind of a vibe of resilience against the bullshit that had happened, but that quickly gave way to the shit that's going on now.

After the festival in Montreal. I wanted to hear all those comics but the fact that all that funny was in that room and they just couldn't make it work was enough for me.

I still thought there was some great shit in that, though. When they all ganged on Pete Holmes, I was fucking dying, it was one of my favorite moments of the year. I actually went back and listened to it twice. Maron practically single-handedly saved that thing.

I love when he tells the story of the fans that randomly dropped by his house, and he's like "That's not cool man, don't just show up at my house, that's weird. (Beat) So you guys wanna see the garage?"

Yeah I enjoyed the first day of the festival but day 2 was uncomfortable to listen to for all the wrong reasons. Ant's firing was still too fresh and it was the elephant in the room no one was comfortable really talking about.

Turned the show off half way through the 2nd show back after Ant was fired, haven't even considered listening to it again. Opie is the personification of terrible radio and without Ant there to riff with Jim, his fake shit is amplified to an unlistenable level. This sub is more entertaining than the show has been for the last 2 years anyway.

I gave it a good honest try. After maybe 2 or 3 weeks I just wasn't compelled to keep listening. Something about the old O&A show made me want to catch every episode.

I stopped listening around the middle of October. I couldn't take it anymore. Now I just listen to old O&A clips on YouTube.

That was my sweet spot as well. I had been listening since they were in Boston. Tits and Paycheck is a sad ending to what once was a great show.

¯\(ツ)/¯

Technically after they were kicked off FM in Pittsburgh back in 2008. Then I didn't get back into the show until late 2011 or 2012. I started listening pretty religiously again probably up through the end of 2013. However, the show had already been on a noticable decline since I came back and it just git steadily worse with bright spots here and there like the Joe Piscipo saga. By 2014 I had all but stopped listening, save for stuff here and there. So by the time Anthony was fired I was already disinterested in the product.

The ketchup challenge.

Probably around Patrice's death. When the comedy pool started plugging their movies instead of being edgy and funny, I just moved on to other shit.

I still listen sporadically but I haven't caught a full show probably since Artie. Ant not being there to disguise Opie's every negative is bad. Overdoing the same standups is pretty bad as well. Jim trying to be Political Commentator James/Pontificating James because nobody is selling his jokes and premises was the last straw.

Sometimes I try to listen on Youtube. I typically don't even make it through the first break.

It is just a bad radio program now.

I downloaded the show almost every day for the past couple of years but I stopped. The last show I listened to was when Pete Rose was in studio with Rich Vos. That episode was actually funny though.

Somewhere between "they aren't people" and the ketchup bit

Gave it up at the turn of the year. 2015 show free so far.

I'll still get the podcast, and Cumia's best of. Between those two Maron, Rogan and a couple of other podcasts I'm set I think.

I'll still listen to YouTube clips that show up if there's a good guest or something but basically done with it.

Don't forget Lookin GOOD Radio, the best podcast ever. Free on itunes or at www.lookingoodradio.com Do it for the kids.

I gave it a couple of weeks after Ant's firing, couldn't get back into it. Fired Sirius/XM, started listening to podcasts, never looked back.

I think I made about 3 weeks or so too, I want to say maybe last week of August. I forget the exact moment, but it was something Opie said were he started complaining about 'haters' again or something and it was so fucking ridiculous I was like "I can't take this guy anymore."

'Serious Jimmy' was killing me too, I noticed an immediate change in his personality and demeanor on the show. It seemed like it was building for a while and culminated with his Vice show that he wanted to take a different route career wise and be thought of as a more legitimate social commentator, not just a dirty comic. I don't blame him, I understand people change & want to be dynamic but it def wasn't my cup of tea. I love Jimmy too much as a comic & didn't want to be turned off by him, so I stopped listening & figured I'd limit my exposure to James to purely stand up/when I go see him live.

I listened to every show since they joined XM. I downloaded the show every day and never missed an episode. After Ant got fired I made it two weeks before I bailed. I still listen to TACS but not every show, and not as regular as I used to. I sure miss it.

I turned it on this morning, I tried, I couldn't last more than 5 minutes. I just couldn't take it, and I used to be a huge fan. It made me really mad.

Stopped listening after the horrible reviews of their last show of 2014. Didn't listen to that show or any full show of 2015.

My last full show was their one attempt at Jocktober this past October. After they re-signed, and were "figuring things out," I decided my sanity was worth more than listening to two inept out of touch entertainers "figure things out." They proved the money was more important than making us tune in to laugh. I supported TACS with a 6 month sub, but he needs to allow subscribers to download shows to their devices before I renew...you couldn't force me to listen to another break of Tits and Paycheck in the morning, let alone pay for it.

Killed my XM subscription after they were suspended for 30 days following the Condoleeza Rice thing. A couple of years later I tried to get back into it by downloading the show and occasionally it was great but it was a ton of bitching about the company and bad political talk.

You bailed THAT long ago but still hang out in the O&A Reddit?

This is how I keep up with what's happening on the show

I cancelled my sub on 4th of July after seeing Ant's tweet about being fired. I downloaded the first two shows w/o Ant and tapped out after that, tried again a few weeks back when soder/punk were on to see if they'd gotten better but it wasn't doing anything for me.

Stopped listening to every show around the Trayvon Martin trial. The show became insufferable. Same points repeated everyday, no actual insight, bias semi-statistics and a run of shite guests coming through who only pertained to the show hosts interests.

Any being fired just sealed the deal entirely.

I have a lifetime sub from the old XM days and haven't missed an episode (live or downloaded) since the WNEW days...

After Ant got fired I gave it about 2 weeks and now only catch O&J if I'm in the car. If not, I find an "Accelerated" episode online and blow through the week in an hour and feel like I didn't miss anything.

Six weeks or so after the firing.

Cancelled after ant's firing. Downloaded the first show or two after the firing, and realized I never liked the Opie and Jim shows anyway, so why bother. Subbed to Ant's show, seemed promising, extended it 6 months, got bored. Haven't listened to either in months.

Only way that I would re-sub to anything would be Opie and Anthony getting back together. Preferably without Jim.

i stayed until recently ,when Worm started telling me all about terrorists in France i couldn't take it anymore.

Around April 2014, when it turned into the Race Rant and Youtube Show. O&A was on its last legs long before Anthony got fired.

Stopped listening daily the first month. Really dropped off hard around Oct. or Nov. Now I listen only when vos, bawby, Colin, etc are on.

Never fully listened after Ant got fired. Sad that his last show was that aweful Sandy Kane show. Also usually when Ant went into a racial tirade, I put a cd on.

I un-subbed when Ant was fired and now I just pirate the stream to joctober it.

Haven't
