Even comparing Opie to Trent Dilfer is too much of a compliment. Dilfer was a game manager who knew his place and avoided making too many mistakes. Opie would be someone like Rex Grossman who quarterbacks a very talented team and his shitty play is the sole reason they lose.

Trent Dilfer was unfairly fired for Elvis Grbac. Who? Exactly!

But Joe Montana and Jon Gruden both have quantifiable accomplishments in their past that they can point to, despite being clueless doddering old men on tv. The Opester is, at best, a footnote in the 30 for 30 "How Howard Stern made half-a-billion dollars."
