Cross Country Road-Trip. Need Podcast and Radio Show Suggestions.

2  2015-01-13 by NiggaInABuick

I'm driving across the country from NY to AZ. It'll be a long drive. Can people give me suggestions of their all-time favorite podcast and radio episodes? Doesn't have to be just comedy -- I also like stuff such as the Serial Podcast and Anthony Bourdain's 1st book.

Edit: Individual episode suggestions if possible.

The David and Bobo show

Here's some good podcasts in comedy:

You Know What Dude with Robert Kelly. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming with all the people, but it's pretty damn good!

Bill Burr's Monday Morning podcast. It's just Bill Burr ranting about things that happened throughout the week, but it's fantastic!

The Virzi Effect with Paul Virzi. It's basically the MMPC in terms of a solo podcast, and Virzi and Bill talk shit between podcasts sometimes, it's pretty good!

The Pete and Sebastian show with Pete Coreale and Sebastian Maniscalco. Couple Italian guys talkin shit about their lives, and they do it over Skype, it's pretty cool to hear their chemistry regardless of them being in different places.

The Joe Rogan Experience, because duhhhh. Even if you don't like the current episodes, you can go way back and hear the classics. They're almost at 600 episodes, so you have plenty of content to choose from.

I'll be driving from NE to OR in a week, these will help keep me sane. Safe travels dude!

Tuesday's with Stories.

Two comedians, Joe List (from YKWD) and Mark Normand, talk about stories from the road as well as current stuff. It's genuinely funny, nothing like YKWD or O&A really, but it's my favourite podcast to listen to. Episodes are usually no more than an hour long, once a week (on Tuesday), but there's the whole back-catalogue available depending on what podcast app you use.

I listen to these:

Joe Rogan Dan Carlin Hardcore history Penn's Sunday School Mohr Stories Cracked (hit or miss) Sword and Scale (true crime) Higherside Chats (hit or miss)

Various other ones, but not regularly. I like long podcasts. I won't bother with one if it's less than an hour, so that cuts my options down quite a bit.

Special deliverrrry

"Norm Macdonald Live" is pretty great. Some of the jokes are visual since it's first aired as a video podcast, but it's available audio only on iTunes.

Also, I've really been enjoying any YKWD with at three of the following guests: Dan Soder, Joe List, Wil Sylvince, Luis J. Gomez. They gel together pretty well and largely avoid the "5 people talking over each other" stigma that YKWD sometimes rightly deserves.

Tuesdays with stories.

Nick DiPaolo, YKWD, Legion of Skanks, The Anthony Cumia Show Podcast, Weird Medicine. All worth a listen and good back catalogues

RACE WARS with Kurt Metzger & Sherrod Small. it's like listening to old O&A shows when Patrice and Anthony talked race.

Opie Radio podcast.
