It's seems pretty clear that Opie has issues with Anthony, but Anthony doesn't have issues with Opie. Or if he does, they certainly aren't as profound as Opie's are with him.

There really is no logical excuse why Opie hasn't made it to Anthony's show in all this time, other than that.

I don't listen and haven't for quite a while, but doesn't Opie have off Fridays now? So what reason would Opie have to not go out to Ant's for a Thursday show? If for no other reason than to show true solidarity with Anthony and support him in his endeavor?

I don't know, I just think at this point...who cares if Opie does TACS? It's clear there is SOME sort of a divide going on there...whatever it's about. The Opie And Anthony Show is over any way you cut it.

From the clips I've seen of Anthony's show, he desperately needs a co-host. He should find one.

When people always discussed the formula of the O&A show, it was that Opie steered the show and Anthony was the funny guy. Well the thing about that equation is, any guy in talk radio could play the 'Opie' role, but not everyone can play the 'Anthony' role.

Anthony needs to just find another Opie type, figure out a better business model that doesn't keep him in his own dark corner (no racist pun intended) of the internet, and REALLY make a strong go at it.

The way he's doing things right now doesn't make him a strong presence in podcasting, it makes him a struggling flame of radio days gone by.

Ask for donations...find sponsors....but don't wall yourself away in a genre that took off because it was open and free.

I remember when they had that big on-air fight, if you listen to the shit they were saying, Opie really revealed himself. Said their partnership was over, he could go do something else, he had all these opportunities... You listen to Ant during it and he sounded dumbfounded by that, he was just like "I still like doing this show!"

Yup. I remember when that happened. It was clear at the time how Opie felt about Anthony, and Anthony seemed completely blindsided by it all. I remember Opie repeatedly making comments to the effect of "look...we had a nice run, but maybe it's time for us to go our separate ways." That was YEARS ago, and Opie was clearly ready to put some distance between them.

I'm not judging Opie...I'm not judging Ant. None of us really know either guy or what went on behind the scenes. The only thing we know is that Opie is a guy who's clearly ready for "safe" broadcasting with a nice paycheck, and Anthony is a guy who is a loose cannon that blew the gig up.

The paychecks are still coming in for Opie, and the only thing that could get him fired with the current content of the show is low numbers because people are no longer getting what they wanted from the show.

Anthony can now be free to say whatever he wants, but the money is gone.

The question is....is EVERYONE content the way things are? I think Opie is. And that's why I don't think he's in any rush to reattach himself to Anthony.

My biggest issue with the Opie Raqio Show is that they're not even trying to put together a decent broadcast: a huge component of any radio show is current events, since Anthony's termination it seems that for six months neither Opie or Jimmy has read anything beyond a newspaper headline yet still insist on discussing the news in an adamant/standoffish manner. Maybe they never did read beyond a headline and Anthony was able to provide them with the facts but without him their current event conversations are a disaster. No one is making an effort and what was one of the best, and often funniest, parts of the O&A Show is an embarrassment on the Opie Raqio Show.

Based on Anthony's comments TACS seems to be doing well financially. Furthermore, Anthony seems to have benefited from a good financial manager because I don't think he has reason to worry about running out of money. I actually think he does TACS because he loves broadcasting.

Yeah, its a bummer they aren't getting along. Itd be cool if Opie would stop by on occasion. If he woulda done it by now the hate might have cooled down. His numberzz would go up on his show, possibly. It would be great if/when Opie goes on the show that Ant would be all "welcome to the Anthony & Opie show" just give him shit like to that back n forth throughout the show would be entertaining.

Five months ago, we would have accepted any excuse as true from both guys.

After seeing both on their own, anyone who thinks Anthony is lying needs to listen to Opie for a week. Anthony is a saint for even entertaining the idea of letting the thin-skinned, fat titted liar that is Greggshells onto his program. I don't even see why he would; entertainment wise, it would be a let down. It would only be a make good so the Cuckster could have a new answer for the "haters" and Anthony could get his fans to quit asking about the guy he's glad to not be working mornings with again.

Anthony's show isn't exactly a world killer

Anthony's brother Joe is more responsible for Anthony's success than anyone. It was his idea to give Opie the tape for the parody song that later got him on the show. I seriously doubt someone as talented and funny as Anthony would have stayed at a shit job his entire life.

If anything Opie should be grateful to Anthony for bringing entertainment and eventually ratings to his show.

Of course Anthony knows Opie played a huge part in him rising from obscurity to celebrity.

He is also grateful that after 20 years of wishing or nonchalantly hinting that Opie could fix his flaws, he doesn't have to put up with it anymore.

Your response seems to be a popular one in the camp of "Anthony ruined the show," which is reasonable, as his actions did cause a change. However, Opie has done NOTHING in 5 months to make peace. I get what you're saying. You can't please everyone, but at least with a phoner you'd finally see Opie not ignoring the show completely and probably hear Ant invite him to come in and get Opie's response. You'd also get to hear the two talk together for the first time in half a year which would be interesting, I'd like to hear that dynamic.
