Adam playing that clip of Opie having a hissy-fit was so gratifying.

Did he? Oof, I can't wait to cringe at this.

The clip was raw, so as soon as it started going into Anthony chiming in Adam goes "Ok, let's cut it off before we hear Anthony starting to talk shit and it gets really uncomfortable in here," ha ha. Everyone in the green room got a big laugh at that one.

"Fuckin liars in this business!" "I'm so sick of radio guys lying!" -yup Opie

oh man,cringe cringe cringe

Only for people here who have less talent than belly lint

Opie throwing a temper tantrum being played on another radio show with Anthony commenting... Is this real life?

A temper tantrum is the perfect phrasing to describe Opie in that clip.

Some good talk with Adam telling the story of Opie making up a story about Adam being rude to him and Anthony biting his tongue about what a weasel Opie is.

Around an hour fifteen in.

I caused Opie to go on that tirade. I was leaving for work in LA in the morning, and caught Adam talking shit about the boys on his old 97.1 show. There was like 10 mins left of O&A, I just happened to catch them. Opie had me pipe in the live stream from LA through my phone, which I was holding up to my radio speaker. I was an hour late for work that day, because I sat in my bathroom for 45 mins, holding my phone up to the dumb transistor radio I had in there. If you listen in the background of that clip, you can hear a feed of Adam talking; that's coming from my radio. If anyone has the whole clip, you can hear Opie talking to me going "What's he saying now, Luke?" It was amazing. I was an O&A soldier out here. I used to prank Leykis all the time, would drop Frunkis's on his show, or otherwise prank him/work in O&A references. The screener was a huge O&A fan and would let me through, it was fucking great.

I can't tell you how surreal it was sitting in Adam's studio, watching Ant in there with Adam while they played that fucking clip, which I haven't heard since the day/2007. And two seconds before, I said to Keith The Cop: "I wonder if they'll talk about the old beef the shows had." Imgur

Thank you for your service.

I called up Tom Leykis when Ant got fired, and Leykis flipped the fuck out. It was a creepy combination of glee that Ant was fired, but also combined with resentment. It was clear that Leykis felt like he deserved a gig like the O&A show, and he was glad to see it blown the fuck up.

"Blow me up, Tom!" You called into his podcast thing? Or is he on AM now? I forget. I gotta find the audio of me Frunkiss'ing him, it's pretty good. I got him a good handful of times, but that was the only one I managed to record.

I miss the old 97.1 Talk FM station out here. (Although I def dont miss Dave Damshek from Adam's morning show, god I hate that guy) Conway & Wittman evenings was my favorite other radio team of all time aside from O&A. They were fucking great.

yeah im listening to that this very moment,i wanna hear some shit talking heh heh.

oof,Opie got shit on.

Anthony's description of Opie being Tarantino from Dusk Till Dawn is dead on. Opie is delusional.

Anthony looks like he emerged from his crypt.

Well he hasn't really left his basement since the poker tournament so.. he kinda did.

Skip to 53:00 for Anthony. Holy fuck does Carolla ramble on about nothing.

Learn from Maron and Rogan. Sell your coffee. Sell your magic pills and get to the interview.

"Sell your coffee, sell your magic pills and get to the interview." holy fuck is this a funny and accurate description of how Rogan's show opens. I haven't slept for a couple days and this shit cracked me up.

I prefer to call it snake oil but magic pills works too!

To be fair Adam spent the first hour discussing the firing of the last news girl, which was a huge deal to most of the listeners. It wasn't just rambling.

"LovelineS"

"Five guys, come out of the wood work... I acknowledged them and told them I didn't do anything and not to join in"

HAHA, oh Ant.. Why not just admit to saying "this ain't your show"

Hate to say it, but this appearance was kind of a bust. We got yet another recap of the Times Square incident, then we got Anthony playing coy while Adam played the tape of Opie bashing Adam that we've all heard a million times. Then they did a news segment where Anthony didn't say a single thing.

They could have played the Best of Scorch bits for the entire segment, but as long as they highlighted Opie being a whiny douchebag, it was most certainly not a bust, IMO.

Get ready for the Mohr Stories one, because apparently they spent a lot of time talking about this. I was kind of bummed to hear that. I love JJ, but like...how do you not pump that one up? He mentioned it on Twitter ONCE, and it was through an RT of a TACS tweet about it. No Instagram, no pictures or "coming soon" shit, no nothing. Im a fan of Mohr Stories but it just feels like that show has been on autopilot for about 6 months now.

Sitting in with Adam is a tough gig. I do stand up & have done some improv, not that I'm Mr Expert, but rolling with that guy is like trying to jump onto a bucking bronco. You can hear him get annoyed a lot of the time if someone chimes in, but then if you don't chime in enough he gets annoyed too. Plus he's so funny and so quick, when he's on a tear about something (which is most of the time) how do you pick the spot to jump in? If you what you say isn't funny, not only will it sound like you bombed, but you'll fuck up his flow, too. I find in situations like that, better off not saying anything and just waiting for an opening somewhere.

What a weird ass show picture.. both guys look like they couldn't be bothered being there.

To be fair, Adam looks like this in most of his pictures.

Adam works fucking non stop. The guy is a machine. At that age, it takes a toll on you. Ant had a very Jimmy Norton-esque weekend, it was Friday night to Sunday night, and it was all podcasts, all business, and then got the fuck out. Dude seemed exhausted, he barely made it out of Carolla's on time to make his flight.

Totally agreed, I actually listen to at least three of his podcasts, he's constantly busting his ass plus travelling, plus doing a doc, a TV show, and everything else he is involved in. He works more than almost any personality I can think of.

What's your take on the Allison thing?

I can see a lot of his points, but at the same time they had such good chemistry together on air, I wish he could have done something more to try to salvage it. It seems to me he let a lot of little things build up, then the pressure valve blew off and he shit canned her. Doing it via email over Christmas break while she was on vacation was a bit reprehensible too. (Which he never addressed)

Sitting in on that show is a tough and moderately thankless gig, and even tougher to find a woman that could hang, and they had that with Alison. She knew when to chime in and when not to, and when she did she was generally pretty fucking funny. Plus she was a doll, what a cutie. I don't know, the whole thing sucks. I don't care for Gina "Radio Voice" Grad, although I met her last night and she was really sweet and you could sense what a tough spot she's in right now.

Wait, I don't listen to the main AC show as much because it's pretty distracting with all the sound effects, he fired Alison? She was my favorite so far, like you said, she could hang, she could lay back in the mix, she supported his points even when he was going over the top, etc. Did he say what actually happened (or what ep. did he talk about it on?). She also was extremely funny and when I looked her up, super cute. Pretty rare to catch that all in one person on radio.

Yeah, he abruptly announced last monday that she was let go. He handled it pretty fiippantly & was quite nonchalant about letting go an integral part of the show for 4 years, so everyone was really pissed off. (He admitted he could have laid it out better)

He talks about why. Some of it comes across as a bit petty, some of it is legit. But overall it doesn't seem to me like he did much to try to salvage anything. Really a bummer because she seems like such a sweetheart and she really grew into being a part of the show. It would almost be like if O&A abruptly got rid of Sam. (I know there would probably be a party in the streets, but I'm saying as far as just losing a significant voice/character on the show, it's comparable. Sam is much cuter though.)

That's wild, when you say everyone was pissed off, do you mean in studio or online? I'll have to listen to the show for the reasons then, she seemed so easygoing. I'm sure there are things that she could have done to annoy him but damn, that'a loss for the show, at least in the short run.

Oh, online. The social media response was insane. Dude, in ONE day the fans put her fucking podcast #1 on the charts, Adam's show was #35. Everyone involved's social media feeds were just filled with anger towards Adam and support towards Alison. "A lot of pissed off people, Mr Garrison..." (JFK)

That's nuts, I'll check his board.

Edit: Based on the reasons given, I think I may almost side with him on this one.

What other podcasts was ant on?

He did Jay Mohr's, Kevin Pollak's, and Carolla's. Not sure if he squeezed any others in, those are the ones I know of.

Yes I am a a faggotini for commenting on a man's apperarance but he needs to slick back his hair.http://a0.img.mobypicture.com/103cf35e65fb0665986c73664ff28a29_large.jpg The gomez adams look suits him.

Bear in mind he was clearly in better shape then.

Anthony is heading for heart attack number 2, hope this one finishes the job this time.

Hopefully you'll be there to give him that last rigor mortis blowjob you've been fantasizing about

Dugout? Aka Danny??

I guess for you this is a perfectly normal thing to say in your succesfull life. Your supermodel wife will just smile with endearment when you say those things right?

Defending a degenerate soon-to-not-be-millionaire, lol

On a side note, the background image of Adam has been Photoshopped to make his right side cheek less wide but you can see where the sweater was arching up to go to the original neck. Once you see it, you can't unsee it, it's like an optical illusion.

Weird. This is the first time I've listened to this show and I even find the opening thing about the internal politics of the show staff to be more interesting than the Opie and Jim show going on live right now.

A stinking pile of fresh dogshit is more interesting than OpieRaqio.

Those plugs!

Man, Ant's nervous laughter is really grating.

Carolla is a huge douchebag

Ooooo yaaaaaaay!

I think Carolla can be funny. I liked his book. His podcast can be boring and pontificating so I don't listen often. He comes off as a very smarmy douchebag. So how anyone can shit on Opie for how he had a "hissy fit" and 100% believe Corolla is just naive. Listen, they're all in entertainment. THEY ALL LIE. THEY ALL TWIST STORIES TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THEY WERE RIGHT. Seriously, Opie was a baby for over reacting but Carolla probably was a smarmy dismissive asshole to him. I don't believe Carolla for a second and why should I? Because he said so and the other person is Opie? Please.

Duuuuuuude, he's schmaarmmy....

Fat Bob would be correct if he said that right now, even if he pronounces it wrong haha

I'm listening to it now, and was just thinking the word "smarmy" then I read it here .. From saying "oh I ask stern to go to dinner," blah blah blah... Then meandering through a live read, then talking about a guy he knows going on vacation with Jennifer Aniston... I dunno, just sounds like an asshole

He really is the definition of smarmy. His whole demeanor, his voice and the way he talks, and down to his personality. He's one of the smarmiest guys in entertainment. He just comes off as a giant asshole. As much as Opie has sucked lately I'd honestly take his word over something over Carollas

His voice is unlistenable for me.

His spade playing card logo is real hip. Online gambling, Texas hold 'em, etc.; watch out for this guy. 2004 all over again.

It's an ace cuz his nickname is "the Ace man"

Whoops that is an ace. Jesus Christ, "Ace Man"? You're fucking with me, right? Is it a purposely a lame nickname as a joke?

People have been calling him Aceman since high school, so he went with it. It's kind of like Opie would say "People have been calling me this stupid name for yearz, so I went with it, okay?"

At least he didn't use it as his professional radio name. "lovelines with dr Drew & the ace man"

That's a valid point.

Why would people call him "Ace Man"?

Yeah, he abruptly announced last monday that she was let go. He handled it pretty fiippantly & was quite nonchalant about letting go an integral part of the show for 4 years, so everyone was really pissed off. (He admitted he could have laid it out better)
