Here's why Opie is an ass: he is not an entertainer. Everyone else in that room is an entertainer. You can make a lot of money from your site if you're established. These dudes are still trying to establish themselves so they need the exposure. They need promotion, too, which is why they are on this fucking show. Yeah, everyone would love to just sell it through their site, and everyone would love to go the Netflix route where they can probably get the best of both worlds. The fact that he's trying to give business advice to these industry vets should suffocate all the empathy people have.

Look at Kevin Hart after his specials did hot ratings.You cannot turn the tv on without hearing about a movie he is in. Of course you would rather be Kevin Hart than some club rat hocking 5 dollar downloads.

In all fairness to Blawby, Louie started that business model and it netted him quite a bit of cash, but it's pretty much standard at this point.

This is a diffrent situation than what Louie did.

When Louie did it, it was a rebelios against the networks kind of thing, to go off on his own and sell it...he was already big, had made a name for himself, could have easily been on the networks. This was like a punk rock type of move on Louie's part - a true to the heart creative choice.

I love bobby so don't get me wrong but he is not on the level of fame that Louie is on. He still needs that huge boost of main stream stardom Louie experienced already. So when bobby sells his thing on his website, its not the crazy, out of the box, type of thing when Louie did it.

So it's all about money with him and not the art, which explains the constant tidal wave of shit that he puts out on his youtube account, merchandise and radio show.

My point is that CC gets paid for the special if someone pays for it online. So in the end it is actually better and more impressive. If Someone buys it instead of watching it on tv, both Bobby and CC get more money, and the same "exposure". My other point is that anyone listening to O&J already knows Bobby, the exposure you are talking about is great but doesn't apply to fans of the show. It applies to new people who do not know who Bob Kelly is and happen to watch his special. Those new eyes aren't affected by what Greg Hughes says on the radio
