How much of the audience has dropped off since the firing?

Its got to be like 50% right?
I've only listened to like three shows since July, and most of the people I know stopped giving a fuck about the show somewhere between July and October.

Management told us we gained like 9000 subscribers to the show. Nice try on the hate though.

haven't listened in months, all I can say is that Ron&Fez are owning it on raw dog, best show on radio, their christmas/new year best of was great!

This. I substituted Ron & Fez and haven't looked back. Bennington and Pepper are great.

Fez's hypnosis session brought me back. I used to listen to them live when they followed the old show, so I'm pretty familiar with them, but I got bored with it after Dave and Lily left. But, it's better than the dreck on that other show, now.

The loss of Ant has me listening to more Ron and Fez. Has been superb the last two months, but don't go telling Opie I said that.

Audiobooks, music, podcast. I enjoyed the show, introduced me to audible forms of entertainment, allowing me to remain productive. It helped me find my inner cynic that was severely lacking. I'll miss all three of them, even Opie, he did mean well. But it was an overall negative show, I'd rather listen to potheads talk about changing the world, or have a book read to me. Have you heard Lolita, read by Jeremy Irons? It's brilliant guys. Do you guys even realize how much brilliantly composed independent music there is out there that isn't Kiss or Black Sabbath?
I remember Opie, Anthony and Jimmy were starting to sweat that the entertainment environment was getting scary with the apologies and firings in 2012-2014. Opie even asked a caller during a discussion how the listeners(we) "...would live if OnA were pulled off the air?" The caller politely replied, "I'm sorry but, it's not that important. I'd move on." To editorialize a bit, an exasperated Opie doesn't seem to expect this kind of reply and seems to handle it without aggression. I paraphrase, he said "hah well than you must not really be a fan then!"
Anthony's firing happened. Predictably, I'd listen to the first couple shows, the return after Independence Day break and the tour from the Comedy Festival. And I think the last straw of the show for me was "is that today's problem?" The show wasn't canned, but I had to move on. And I'm not even saying they are an awful show without Ant. I just couldn't take that attitude anymore. Anthony was getting that way as well, before the firing, bickering about apologies over and over for an entire show multiple times a week. I took some shots at the boys on here, but I also complimented them. I just don't wanna be that hater dude anymore.
Good luck to Opie and Jim and his staff. I hope they figure out how to improve. They have an audience of driving subscribers, that's something to be proud of.

There's no one honest enough to say
2 jakdak 2015-01-03
They have no idea. There's no feedback loop in the satellite protocol that allows them to measure what folks are actually listening to.
They could get some rough idea from the website listeners, but I don't believe that's the majority of their demo
2 Whyver 2015-01-03
You don't think the phone app stores that info?
2 jakdak 2015-01-03
The phone app does, but the majority of their listeners are going to be in car radios where's there's no feedback mechanism.
XM used to do user surveys but I've never heard from Sirius since the takeover.

ahhh. Makes sense. I get the impression that the suits and sales staff want the numbers as cloudy as possible for maximum obfuscation both to talent and potential ad buyers.

Eh, i tried sticking around after the firing to see what opie and jim did now that the guy that said 85% of the interesting shit that was said on the show is gone, and what did i get? opie and jim verbally flailing around for about an hour or so until a guest would come in that they can piggy back on until they leave. Its just not decent radio anymore so i stopped listening around October or so.

At least 60%

There's absolutely no way to tell.

It's just as aggravating with podcasts, there's no way to find how many goddamn downloads your show gets from itunes. Why the fuck not?? Who cares, they're free shows. Really annoys the shit out of me.

Are you considered an audience if you make it barely past the Opening song when they go into the obligatory 40 minute long music break where both sound like uninformed asshats?
Then run here (hater site) and make fun of the hosts, and shit on the show?
3 Zenaesthetic 2015-01-03
I stopped listening on YouTube, for whatever that's worth. I'm glad I never gave SXM a dime.
2 mcmck 2015-01-03
no it was more like 51% i'm guessing. you were very close though.
1 Danielson799 2015-01-03
I don't think it changed much. Most people haven't cared about the show in years. It's background noise at best now.

For what its worth, I noticed that guy's site with the Afro no longer has free links since around the time of Anthony's firing...im guessing due to loss of ad revenue from web traffic
