Lets be fair. Right now we really dont know where he is going with this. If he uses this as a way to get Ant a little airtime, i.e. talking with Ant on the phone, playing the bits sometimes during O&J, and letting listeners know he is trying to get Ant back on the channel, I would commend him. But if it is just a cheap way to use the old material as damage control to try and keep listeners and nothing more, Opie is a dick.

It's a longshot, but I wonder if this is a small step towards Anthony coming back to SXM someday.

I wouldn't necessary look at it as a concession, I'm sure they want to try to retain as much of the pre-firing subscriber base as they possibly can. The problem is that a lot of the older material is readily available on youtube or other avenues for free, so providing paying subscribers with the older content (even at their request) really isn't that much of an incentive to continue with their subscriptions. It'll be interesting to see if they start cracking down harder on the youtube uploads if people start unsubscribing, so then they have to stay subscribed in order to hear the older content. In the past the youtube clips were a great way for new people to discover the show and to get them to subscribe to the sirius for new content. Now that Anthony is gone the dynamic is completely different and that "subscribe to sirius for new O&A content" incentive is no longer there. If a lot of the O&A clips get taken down over the next couple of months I won't be surprised.

Congrats, he has hijacked all of Ant's bits. Ant gets ZERO compensation for any of the replay's. Opie should just upload them all to his youtube channel now with an "Opieradio" watermark on them. If Ant uploaded any of his old O&A bits to his youtube, Sirius would hit him with a Cease and Desist. Opie stinks and is a backstabber.

A few weeks ago Sirius refused to air part of or the whole Comedy Cellar podcast that Anthony/Keith the cop were on. Ant basically said fuck them, no chance of him going back. Now if they do the right thing money wise, I think he would go back.
