Im not sure why its Jim's responsibility to fill Anthony's spot. Jim is still Jim. If anything, the company should realize that opie is embarrassingly bad and driving the show into the shitter. Then they should either try to bring ant back, or scrap this show and put all involved out of their misery.
SiriusXM doesn't really care about the show itself, lets be honest. If that company really cared about the "Opie and ANTHONY" show, they would have taken a little bit of time to fire one of the key members.
It sometimes really does make me think they fired Anthony just wanted so save a few bucks, look at what they pay other shows.
Even prior to Anthony's firing I thought the ahow was always weaker with just Opie and any second mic. Opie needs two very solid people for him to at best moderate. Norton has remained Norton, no one else (Soder, florentine etc) has made up for Anthony's absence. They have had moments, but they are all held back by fear of the Opester that Anthony did not have and they lack the depth of converation that Anthony can bring. They don't have Anthony's confidence to steer the conversation anywhere without dumbass direction. Their names aren't on the banner. No leverage. Also Anthony usually had an opposite view from Norton. Now generally the third mic is about the same as the rest of the room.
The show's direction has changed to revolve around complementing Opie's skill set and interest. So it's a little news with a lot of bad pop culture shit and over the top celeb asslapping. Opie would be in his element on EW with Jennie Hutt as his counterpart.
The fun days are gone. The mean is gone. Fluff city. And THAT is why "management is loving the direction of the show". Thier jobs are easy now. There will be zero controversy.

even Anthony walked on greggshells around Opie. Anthony worked with him for decades, so I'm not gonna expect Soder, or whoever to just fall into position, and start calling Opie out on his shit but there were tons of times that even Anthony didn't call Opie out on his shit because the whining behind the scenes may have been too much.
