Has Fez gotten less annoying? Ive heard them on/off for ..idk 10+ yrs via WNEW and xm and Ron is a genius..but Fez is so terrible never understood how fans deal with him.
Fez is currently both loved and hated by fans. I'm in the former category. They went to D.C. last week and Fez was white hot, the last half hour they hypnotized him and he pretended to be Opie, had me in stitches The following week he was back to his former self, "locked up." I guess some of the hate is warranted, but I still love that goddamned show. Ronnie B is a national treasure.
I'm off Harmontown these days, it's gotten way too sappy. I started listening at episode 1 and then it got real social-justicey and I can't stand the "we are all a family of creative misfits, let's bring the crowd up!" vibe now. Which is a shame cause Harmon and Jeff are hilarious.
It's sad because that was one of the first podcasts I heard where it was done in front of a live audience and the hosts were improv guys who know how to behave on stage. People paid money to see a show so there was no dead air, it had a great pace. Also he would come with loose topics to discuss that could be built on, and not "hey let's see what's in the news, this headline looks crazy!" Then over time they started inviting more and more audience members to the stage to talk about their lives, which is worse than taking callers on air.
Legion of Skanks nigga, as soon as I started listening to it regularly I realised that hanging on to O&A, even to shit on it, just wasn't fun at all anymore. I honestly don't know why people still listen, I get that some people get a kick out of that MST3K/laughing at awful shit stuff, but these are the same guys we've been listening to the whole time and it turns out they just completely suck in almost all ways a person can.
It makes it embarrassing to have ever listened in retrospect, the only lasting legacy the show has to be proud of was giving Patrice and other great comedians a platform.
Now Patrice is dead and everyone else is swimming as fast as possible from the sinking SS OpieRadio while Jim hangs from the crows nest screaming about litigation and why everyone else is the reason America sucks.
I don't know about you, but I've been way into this podcast out of LA called "Lookin GOOD Radio," give it a shot. It's free on itunes, and at www.lookingoodradio.com Watch out though, because it's so funny that a guy in Ohio listened to it and his head melted like Toht in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. From the sheer hilarity.
No it's not. Both of the hosts are mic'd and sounds better than most indie/no budget podcasts I know of. I don't know if you know, but podcasts that aren't in a professional studio don't have a producer and a $20k mixer, you stupid fuck.
I listened to the latest episode today --- it was awful from an auditory standpoint. At 170 shows you'd think they would have progressed beyond what sound like k-tel microphones. My blue tooth has better auditory range. One of them sounded like he was standing a foot from a telephone and the audio was jacked for bass.
You don't need expensive equipment. You do need good equipment. I'm not even going to discuss how uninteresting they were or whatever the opposite of funny is.
On the plus side. Opie now seems much better by comparison, thank you, you flaccid, impotent half wit
You're completely loying, you're full of shit. It's two $300 microphones. If you don't think the show is funny (Im sure you're just a hoot yourself) that's fine, but you don't have to lie and say it sounds like shit. That's complete horse puckey, mister. (Thanks for supporting a fellow fan & independent talk radio though, jizz biscuit.)
Look shit stain all anyone has to do is download an episode and listen to discover what an audio disaster it is. I listened to the latest episode --- my phone has a better microphone and records sound at a higher quality.
Judging from others comments about the show I'm not even close to the only one with a negative opinion . At the 170 show mark I guess I expect too much.
It doesn't matter if I'm funny or interesting as I'm not pushing a podcast
I'm guessing you are either one of the host or hoping to fellatiate them in the near future --- given how little they have to spend on their equipment I hope your swallowing for the simple joy it brings to you mundane existence
Aggravated, well yes ass pimples are annoying --- checking out is exactly what I did to the show and won't recommend is too mild for my opinion --- as to lying, all anyone needs to do is listen, as many have, discovering poor attention to sound quality ( what could be more important in a audio medium) and terminal lameness

Ron and Fez is the shit. I went from a casual to an everyday listener after Ant got fired. Even if it's a slow day, Ron keeps it real.

When Fez is locked up, they make make a bit out of it, when he's not, they make a bit out of it. You can't go wrong.

As far as radio goes? Not really. Other than R&F obviously. There are podcasts a plenty though.

Rogan's podcast can be good when the guest is good, Bill Burr, Penn Jillette's podcast, and Norm Macdonald's is really good.

Harmontown. How did this get made. Comedy bang bang. Race wars. Who charted. Legion of skanks. Nerd poker.
These are some of the podcasts I listen to now.

Anyone know where we can get a group discount on matching Nikes and white robes?
1 Wsallgood 2014-12-22
Every now and then, you can find "slightly used" sales.

Hoping Sirius XM does something smart for once and makes the Dan Soder/Jay Oakerson show a reality. PM drive. Do it.
I like podcasts, but there is something about a good daily show.

I've been listening to Race Wars podcast lately. Really good show and they post new shows really frequently.
