Do you ever feel a little bit frustrated with Anthony?

We all know Anthony shouldn't have been fired and that it wasn't his fault, but do you ever feel a little bit frustrated with him on the grounds that he pushed the racial stuff, something we know the industry is really PC and touchy about, way too far for them and blew up the show?

Anthony was my favourite, but his racial monologues did nothing for me... so when I think about how many times he flew so close to the sun for something that was preventable and didn't make the show better (IMO), it's almost frustrating in the way that it is when someone commits suicide over something that could have been prevented.

Why did you have to go and leave us in this world without you? :(

Ant is a likable dude with unlikable opinions. The part to me is frustrating is the few times I agree with him on race issues; and then he loses me with how zealous and sometimes angry he gets about them. I wanna laugh, not nod my head to a white supremacy mantra.

The thing is, he doesn't actually care about having a civil discussion because both you and I can tell its his obvious overy-emotional, angry tone that guide his racial beliefs. His contempt for black people. Its not about being right, its about making sure everyone can see how much those blacks are "animals". And this is reinforced by him never looking to find any solutions for the problems he talks about, only doing things like going on a 45 min. rant on the merits of racial eugenics.

That's exactly it. Before the eugenics discussion - in which he out-and-out declared that he believes that some races are smarter than others - it was always his tone and repetition that made him come off as a racist. Pointing out FBI crime statistics and the "disproportionate number" of violent crimes in the black community is not racist. Doing it multiple times a day while screaming about savages and booing interracial relationships is going to raise some suspicions.

No. He played with fire and you get what we got here.

The only thing I'm looking to him for is an open acknowledgement from him about how impotent Greggshells was in the progress of the O&A show and/or demanding that the same radio savant openly thank him for having a roof over the river kids' heads.

should opie demand a thank you from anthony for saving him from his horrible tin knocking life and monster wife.

Opie did pull Ant out of obscurity. He's still talentless.

The fire being the complete dishonesty in this country? Fuck it....I have much more respect fro him in that he never apologized for speaking honestly.

Which part wasn't his fault? Was it someone else who went on a Twitter tirade? This was in the era of the terrible Apology Bell bit, so they both knew full what happens when you start saying things that Corporate doesn't agree with, and pretty much any company is going to freak out when one of their headline talent flies off the handle in the manner Ant did. I don't feel frustrated. Ant knew better, did it anyway.

He said much worse things on AIR than he did on twitter that day.

I know it's hard to believe, but his on-air audience is much smaller than Twitter, and potentially even Gawker's. It doesn't so much matter what you say sometimes as who can hear you say it.

Oh the fucking drama. You might think Anthony said that all niggers were shitskin subhumans. Give me a break you fucking idiot.....he called out the culture that promotes violence, and called them savages. You should be supporting the right to say that rather than bending over and being assfucked by the PC shit that is sweeping the nation.

nah, he's a racist cunt

but he's still our racist cunt

I'm all for being able to say whatever you want, but that doesn't mean that it comes without consequences. I'm also for employment at will, and Sirius can choose to employ whomever they wish. Turns out they don't want to employ someone who comes off racist.

Very much so. TACS is often boring and bland. Anthony is a hilarious human being and is tremendously gifted on air. The problem is he fits so perfectly in the O&A grouping that him on his own was always going to fall short.

What I would've liked was for him NOT to get off the couch and start TACS right away. I feel him starting it and getting it going prevented O&A from getting back together in October. I think if him and Op had spoken and said okay we need to sort things out and Jim and Opie will walk in October and Ant was get things going with the O&A podcast behind the scenes, it could've worked. Instead what other option did Opie and Jim have? Ant already has his show with subscribers, why wouldn't they stay at Sirius. Opie and Ant really screwed the pooch here.

He's not good at the one man show. He needs some one to play off of.

I like how you made the point that both ant and opie fucked up and not just one or the other. Most people put it on opie, who rightly deserves it but ant jumped in too quick to the podcast.

Speak for yourself, heart attack spent a month talking about the apology clock and had to know that he was risking his job and his staffs jobs over his tweets. Fuck him

Every fucking post, nobody cares.

Oh, wow.....it is the heart attack poster. Ever notice how no one gives a shit about what you post?

It's as if he thinks people would think less of him if he had a heart attack. News flash, nobody cares. He could be Appendectomy Anthony and I would feel the exact same. Did he die? No, so who gives a fuck? Shit happens to the health of people all the time. Big fucking deal.

"Mr.Honesty" Anthony can't handle people talking about it and that's probably why /u/DugoutDoug talks about it.

Fuck Heart Attack Jones. His crappy internet show sucks ass anyway.

Act like a manchild, get treated like a manchild.

I think he had just gotten too accustomed to flying under the radar. O&A has a decent-sized fandom, but it's always been very insular. Like we've all pointed out, Ant has said tons of distasteful, racist shit over the years that could have easily gotten him fired if mainstream outsiders had picked up on it. The fact that they hadn't probably led him to think that they never would.

I fucking love watching his life unravel, his podcast is a fucking joke.

I've been thinking about this exact same thing for awhile now. I remember in the months before he was shit canned thinking "Is he trying to get fired?" then the whole apology clock thing. Then of course the tweets.

I think subconsciously, at the very least, he was itching to do something else and unfortunately for us, he succeeded.

I know that most any job I've ever been "let go" from, there was always a deep down desire for it to end in my head as well. It's kind of how it works.

I don't think it's any different in Ant's case. He was even tweeting about Beavis needing to switch to the cheaper cat food before the hammer came down.

I think deep down he knew it, and wanted it.

It's too bad.

Wasn't his fault? He acted like a bitch on Twitter after getting hit by a girl after months of fake apologies and people being fired for silly shit in this overly PC climate. Ant's not a dumb guy, he should've known better.

His racial stuff got less and less funny over the recent years and Trayvon broke him. It was only a matter of time.

Anthony sucked and will continue to suck until his pacemaker flies out of his chest.

I'm frustrated with Ant's single mindedness on race and his constant preaching on these issues. Don Imus, Paula Deen etc, much bigger names who got in a shit storm over the same thing. You have to play by the rules in showbiz, simple as that. The rewards are multi million dollar contracts, women and fame. Anthony chose another route and I'm sure he regrets it.

Nope. The reason I listened besides the funny was that they would push the limits of what most people think is acceptable to talk about.

Wow you're so cool

He's my hero for truthing out on blacks, drinking heavily despite having dick cheney's heart, and breaking the hearts of teenage runaways. And of course it was his own stupid fault for getting fired. THEY AREN'T PEOPLE. N!&&#R$

I'd rather him have stated the obvious truth than censor himself to avoid being scolded by the PC police. He joked on racism, but was never actually racist.....people have lost all the meaning for that word. Resurrect Patrice and ask if he thought Anthony was truly racist.

Well he did one time say people ask me if I really think Anthony is racist and I tell them yes. He would call him the adorable racist. Anthony is racist. He doesnt deny being racist. That doesnt change that he's hilarious and still objective enough to make exceptions. How people can deny Anthony being racist still at this point is funny. Who cares if he is?

How many times are you going to type racist?

A dress....he had a dress, a dress.

Patrice always admitted ant was racist dummy
