See, that's the key to good radio. Sometimes you just gotta take a shot with a caller...then hope someone else in the room has something funny or interesting to say...because God knows you won't

the difference in callers is night and day. ive heard the occasional "good" r&f caller try and make a call into Opie only to have the person bogged down in all the shit Opie casts them in.

There are once a sirius sub truck drivers who call into Opie who NEVER WILL CALL AGAIN because of the way he handles their phone calls.

But, apparently, according to Opie, im just a hater and my opinion means nothing because i post on here. Im just "an Anthony fan"

yeah opie show management sux, he has a terrible rythm, he cuts many bits way too short just to take a phone call that adds nothing to what's happening in studio, wonder if it's just because he's an autistic fuck and lacks self-aawareness or because he has to justify his presence in studio.

Opie was, is, and always will be just a mediocre board-op that got lucky. PERIOD

This is one of the worst things about the "BUT HE DA RUDDER ANCHOR STEERER DIRECTION TO DA SHOW" bullshit. People talk about he has some importance to the show because he decides when to take calls, change topics, and take breaks. It's not about just doing those things. It's about being GOOD at it, and Opie isn't. He was, and still is horrible.

Anthony knew when to take calls (rarely, and not interrupting the flow of any topic riffing), and when to change topics or go to break (when the conversation reached it peak the room started to come down from the euphoria of having 30-45 minutes of great/funny conversation with out "HOLD ON HOLD ON", "LETS SAY HI TO...", or Opie just stopping everything to add nothing).

That's why the claim that he had to be there to give the show structure is absolute bullshit. He's terrible at conversing, hes terrible at being funny, and hes terrible at "running" the show. He was an absolute burden that Anthony and Jim were stuck with because Opie started a horrible incarnation of the show 20 years ago. He'd NEVER get that spot if it was based on skill or talent. If he was just some guy who SiriusXM decided to add to test out for a week to see how the show ran with "structure", everyone in the studio would hate him and you'd never see him after that week. He's talentless...

Vilifying the callers? The callers are the fucking worst, they really don't need much "vilifying".

He's always wanted his show to be his own personal frat. Then people much more talented started showing up, but they had to walk on greggshells, so the callers and staff are the only people he has the balls to "haze".

I'd love to be a fly on the wall during the Geneseo years. It makes me happy imagining how badly the other frat guys misliked and mistreated him.

Upvote from me on that one. The Ron & Fez callers are maybe the worst, dumbest callers I've ever heard into any radio show, ever. It's just retarded hicks & truckers. The only time they're good is when they're calling in to fuck with Fez/get him pissed.
