It feels like the radio/podcasting world is just waiting for a new king (show), but nobody wants/has earned the crown. There are a few shows that have a large listener base, but there's nothing close to the golden years of the Stern show, or the O&A show.

If Anthony found the right co-host, TACS could be that show. A sober Artie Lange would be the best possible choice, imo, but Anthony's got a better chance of having an oompa-loompa on a unicorn for a sidekick than getting a sober Artie to LI Mon-Thurs.

He needs to give it to mike brown, it seems like a completely recharged anthony when he is on

I think he's currently sober, but Artie struggles with addiction like no other. I can't imagine a cause of death for him that doesnt involve a speedball. And I'll even say within 5 years. Artie's a great, funny, talented dude, but he's basically fucked.

It's actually really not. It's good for the same reasons O&J are good: it's good when a good guest is on. Just like O&J alone are awful, Anthony is awful alone as well. The best Cumia shows have been WAY better than the best O&J shows, though. But for the most part it's been painfully mediocre.

The boys just aren't nearly as good as O&A. My dream scenario would be a similar setup to what Ant does, but not in his basement, but in Manhattan with Opie and Jimmy and the rest.

I've only listened to the weekly podcasts and found them all disappointing. Bad sound quality, no-name guests, too much race talk, and some off-camera Ed McMahon sidekick cracking up at everything.

I'd never pay $7 for a podcast, and would never watch a video podcast, but just wondered if the podcast is a good representation.

A standard show, meaning a show with just Anthony, I would give a 4/10. A show with a comedian guest (Mike Brown, Colin, Jimmy, Soder, Vos, Bobby) I would give a 9/10. He's had some other good non-comic guests and those were about 7/10 shows. I'll deduct points for a phoner because they've all been terrible so far. I'll also deduct points for a stripper/porn whore because that just doesn't equal entertainment to me. Overall TACS gets points for its length (I like the shorter length) and the visual element.

That's my opinion on it. I don't mind the race talk for the most part but if that's something you don't like then I can see why you wouldn't like the show. Some people in this thread are acting as if he talks about race more often than he does. I've never listened to one of his weekly podcasts so I don't know. My buddy isn't a subscriber so he just torrents the shows he likes and he ends up getting one or two a week and enjoying them. So if you can torrent then maybe you should do that. I'm not going to tell you where to get it but a certain bay will have what I'm talking about.

Do yourself a favor and try to get the shows with Mike Brown, Colin, Bobby, Vos, Jimmy, and Soder. They were the best shows thus far in my opinion. I'm not sure what dates those shows were so you might have to do some researching.

The interview and guest shows actually aren't as good as the ones where he really takes on a lot of funny things just by himself. That Mike Brown episode really was not that good at all. The fact that people here rave about it makes me feel a little better about seeing so much negativity about Ants show. It shows the level a lot of people here really are on. Not. Good.

His show is head and shoulders above O&J. Even when it's just him. When he was riffing on that video of the soccer mom yelling at the wal mart security guy. Andrew Dice Ventura. The Cosby stuff, and then there's the triumphant return of Japanthony. I've never listened to one of his shows and NOT been entertained. O&J on the other hand, I've listened to WEEKS without a laugh. There is zero chemistry there, not a laugh to be had most days and worst yet, just frustratingly banal shit.

I actually can't even listen to most old o&a clips anymore because I just hate Opie's voice and contributions so much. I prefer the Anthony podcast at this point, I know it probably seems crazy to you, but it's actually just a matter of opinion and slightly lower key Anthony who's unhinged content-wise is just by far what I prefer at this time. In fact, it's actually better than most Opie and Anthony shows were, even if you only consider the lack of Opie. You're just doing what a lot of people do and glorifying what you can't have anymore. i really enjoy the show with or without a cohost, ant was on fire thursday and really just needs someone to laugh at the shit he says to keep him rolling. i also enjoyed his building a computer talk, he knows a bit about everything and feels building a computer is like getting podcast equipment into the city.

Wow, all the hate for Anthony. I think that the show has progressed from the beginning and has been really funny as of late. Thursday was hilarious and I would love to see Mike brown as the cohost. Anthony is so fast and with another person there to bounce stuff off of you really see that. I want to love TACS but I can't. It's not something you can just sit and listen to while you're driving/working/etc. like O&A was. He needs to strip the visual element, no one wants to watch Anthony Cumia staring up at himself on the monitor going "aaaahhh", which is half the show.

Not really. Ant is still funny so can occasionally have a good line here and there. But it's really not good. I love ant so anything with him is tolerable but it's simply not good.
