Off-Topic: Banksy Does New York

Posting this because I first heard about it from this show. Opie's contribution to the actual documentary was miniscule and completely pointless.

That said, holy shit I had no idea this went on in NYC. Did anyone in this subreddit see the doc, actually see any of Banksy's works in NYC or both?

Am I the only person who thinks Bansky is a douche?

I wanna see him exposed for the fat, balding liverpudlian that he is.

What makes you think that?

I dunno. I just don't understand the hype. He spray paints stencils onto walls and the only reason people care is because he keeps a hidden persona.

I think the hidden persona is part of it, but a lot of the "pieces" in the documentary are pretty thought provoking and intense. For example, the one that he did on Day #9 of his NYC residency was incredible.

Here is a link to an article about it: Banksy Day 9: Crazy Horses Riding Through the Lower East Side to a WikiLeaks Soundtrack

I'm with you. A needy artistic douche.

What makes him needy?

I'm embarrassed for Opie that he thinks he filmed Bansky getting out of a truck that you can see multiple people in moving around. The description to the video is even worse. "Followed Banksy's "Sirens of the Lambs" when all of a sudden the truck pulled over and people got out assuming no one was around. Soon as they saw me filming they scattered in different directions." Seriously, what a douche.

It's cringeworthy how now he basically has given up on trying to get the viral video and is now posting snippets from interviews on the show trying to get it picked up by outlets like TMZ.

Opie is pathetic.

Those words cut deep... like my feelings were laced with thermite paint. I'm warm blooded, my blood can't melt skin. Coincidence? Thank you for your service
