Jim Norton is a sell out. Not for a grandiose amount of money or in a very public and infamous way like say, Metallica (FAWK YEAH!) but a sell out nevertheless.

He'd have more fun with Ant with a comparable to superior schedule. With Ant, Norton would clearly be working with the more talented broadcaster in the more relevant form of entertainment with all the things he said he craved: no management bullshit, visual element, no content restrictions. However, he would initially make less money.

So the 30 Percent Keeeyid decided to be tortured for 2 more years by Opie for more money.

The problem is this show doesn't challenge him. He doesn't have to be funny or think of something really quick anymore to get people to laugh. He knows he won't get Greggshells to laugh (because autism) and in the past he was always going for quick lines to make Anthony laugh. He got a raise but the current show has completely cut his balls off.

Excellent point. The show format was a Topic followed by ant and jimmy riffing off each other with jokes.

Plus he really has to do nothing but show up at SxM and on Ant's show he would have to actually work. Where else is he going to find a 6 figure zero stress part time job?

Maybe he has to play nice now that the show he's on is no longer the comedy giant it used to be. Thwn again playing it nice might be why they're in that spot in the first place.

Yea…I used to love Jim but he is just as bad as Opie for re-signing to that shitty place and allowing the show to get as bad as it has. He's an adorable company kiss ass anymore, and I don't like it.

I used to really give Jim the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to what is or isn't a "bit" for the radio. "Future Jimmy" used to be somewhat of a bit, but since Anthony was fired, there's no one calling Jim out on his "I am insightful" tone of voice. He talks out of his ass CONSTANTLY and it makes me sick to my stomach. Jim also says he doesn't listen to other comedians, but he's on a show that interviews comedians? That's like abstaining from reading while showcasing authors on your show.

I'm just annoyed with his idiosyncrasies as a host. He seems to reflect off of Opie's mannerisms more and more, unable to take criticism from fans, laughing at the fucking "Camel Clutch" song and other awful bits... He's just not the sweet boy we used to know and love.

Love Jimmy...and he's the ONLY reason I've listened to OpieRaqio, but he really is the worm he warned us he was.

Dude, if you were offered a guaranteed large sum of money for two years to interview celebrities, play characters and make jokes, you'd sign too. Lets be honest, Jim doesn't have much going on other than this radio show and he'd be a fool not to take advantage of SXM.

New Opie is less edgy as well. That's basically been the crux of the decline of the show even before Ant's demise.

The distraction of Ant's firing is over. Everyone is starting to remember they hated everyone and everything about the show instead of just Opie's awfulness. We're just getting back to normal.

I think that Ant needs to start courting and grooming Jimmy by suggesting that,after the two year run,both of them should start a morning show in NY.
