How Opie manipulated his friends, co-workers and bosses into giving him his own show, screwing them all over in the process.

- Opie and Anthony set up a radio show.
- Things get a little rocky, Opie starts doing more managerial stuff so he'll be seen as more an asset than Anthony.
- Opie becomes distant from Anthony.
- Anthony confronts Opie on-air over his attitude and increasing control over all aspects of the show, all listeners agree with Ant. Opie twists it and accuses Anthony of being "unprofessional"
- Opie gets more involved with the management, discusses what would happen if Anthony were to leave the show.
- Anthony is assaulted by a fat black woman, sends a string of tweets which could be viewed as racist.
- Opie pressures management to get Anthony fired.
- Anthony is fired.
- Show is rebranded as 'Opie Radio'

ant fucked himself over, if he didnt go on a rant they would have had no reason to fire him.

Im not gonna lie, Ive thought about this before. Opie had to have known that management had issues when Ant went on racist rants on air. Usually I hate O&A conspiracy theories, but these are pretty solid.

I don't buy it. You really think Opie wanted more work to do? Now he has to "sort of" prepare for a radio show. With Ant on the show Opie and Jim could sometimes let him handle the first break with a political rant/pulled over story/etc. Now they HAVE to talk for the first hour every show. I just don't see Opie wanting to run the show by himself in his early 50's.

I don't think Opie knew that it would be THIS MUCH WORK, I really think he thought he could skate with Jimmy and another comedian doing the hard work and he could still take credit with his own OPIERADIO channel. With me I've always thought that Opies ego was the biggest problem. This is exactly what Opie wanted, and to me it seems like this was planned in advance. Think about it, Opie knew that management had issues with Ants racial rants... he was just waiting until SiriusXm did something about it. It was only a matter of time until Ant was fired for saying something racially charged. If only Patrice was still alive to defend ant... He would have never been fired with that glorious black Magilla Gorilla in his corner.

Brilliant, there's only one flaw...
It requires some cunning and intelligence.

Wow, that's unreasonably speculative and retarded, even for this board.
I think it's safe to say that Opie did this out of necessity. The show became less about pre-meditated predictable bits and featured brilliant comedic minds going off the cuff nearly every day. If Opie wasn't the ship steerer, what the fuck else was his value?
It sounds like that happened pretty organically.
Details, please? Not sure what that's in reference to.
Ditto.
C'mon. You can say that he didn't go to bat as hard as he should of or that he should have threatened to walk out, but that's insane.

And it only took 20 years to do it. Fucking Opie is a genius!!!

It does sound like a conspiracy theory (THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!) but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Opie did it.
