The article itself explains this. Sirius numbers go up when car sale numbers go up. Simple as that. Every single person who listens to O&A could cancel their subs today and if car sales go up next quarter Sirius numbers will still be up. There aren't enough people that subscribe for O&A to make an impact on Sirius as a whole.

I get the whole 'it was better with Ant' .I loved the show..and it still sucks that Ant is gone. I just don't get why everyone thinks it's such a huge drop off since he went. People making out its the worst radio ever ...c'man

It's the best radio that has had a severe drop off in quality. If people can't tell the difference then I don't know if they were actually listening. I'm a rather new fan (2012-present) but it is very clear how the quality is now shit comparatively. I drive ALL the time. I've probably only missed a handful of shows in the last few years. Now I have prioritized this show behind others for my drives. And no, I'm not a trucker.

The difference is there's no Ant. And Ant would go into random voices or impressions or stereotypes that Opie can't do. That's what's missing. Opie blabbing on about stories is just terribly boring. "I went to the park today. My kid. New York City."
