Jay Thomas

I find it ridiculous that Jay Thomas can say what he said about Rich Vos and his family on Sirius' airwaves and not get any type of blow back whatsoever, yet Anthony gets fired for tweeting about an event that happened to him, from the privacy of his own home. I know there was an agenda here by Sirius regarding the O&A show, but Jay saying he'd basically punch Bonnie, and open up Rich's daughters vagina doesn't even make any headlines? Abuse of a female and child abuse yet he still has his job, bunch of hypocrite losers.

Jay walked right into that one!

fuckin' home run, briousness!

So now we want a huge backlash and people fired for what they say on the radio?

Exactly. A shame that people who hated what the PC police did to guys like Imus and Ant would now side with them to punish Jay Thomas.

If Opie came out and said this exact same thing there would be at least two new threads bashing him for it.

Considering what I've read here, I can't disagree with that. With all the quality Opie-bashing examples available, there's no need to shoehorn an anti-Opie rant into this episode.

Didn't opie and anthony make fun of peoples kids before? Howard sterns daughter comes to mind.

MY VAGINAAAAAAAA. They sure did.

Was she really a kid then? When Emily Stern did her off off off Broadway play, Kaballah, it was a nude role because not only was she of age, Emily Stern was nearly 30 at the time. Jay Thomas said he was going to split open an 8 year old's vagina. That ain't even close.

Vos' daughter is 8, Stern's was an adult. I don't think you can compre the two.

and opie didnt say he would smash her in the head either, they were making fun of how she did a play nude.

splitting hairs?

There's gotta be a "hair on the field play ball" joke here somewhere...

there is, I was trying to be serious, not sure why....

If we're going to play the "but they did it too!" game then your point about Howard is fraudulent since Howard said the same things to other radio hosts' kids in the 80s and 90s.

Which again proves my point, Sirius does not give 2 shits about what is said on air, child abuse, spousal abuse etc.....but someone Tweets something off air in a fit of rage and they lose their job. Its the ridiculousness of the company and proves they've been waiting for the right moment to dismantle the O&A show for whatever reason

Most big companies like this don't give a shit until the pc police and sjw's come along. Keeping anthony would cause sirius to lose more money than anthony would cause them to make. It's simply numbers because it's a business, not the empathy center.

"Keeping anthony would cause sirius to lose more money"

They would have lost nothing and that's an indisputable fact.

It's on a paid service few people have access to it also rich and Bonnie are white

Rich is disputable.

HESH NAUGHT WHITE HESH SHESMETICSH

Ha ! :)

I don't know why but that strikes me as funny as hell.

No they're not, they're Kikes.

"Who the hell are Jay Thomas and Rich Vos?" - everyone of importance at sxm

Again, if you listen to the call that Opie and Jim had with Rich Vos about the Jay Thomas thing then you'd understand that it was not a big deal to Rich and he made no indication that he was really upset about it. Rich Vos is at his best when he's smashing someone who wronged him and it's usually hilarious and spot-on. If Rich does decide that it's anything more than an annoyance than I look forward to hearing him destroy Jay Thomas. I don't understand why you and Opie are so desperate to make this a much bigger deal or going on the attack when Rich Vos doesn't seem all that annoyed about it.

If the story got picked up by Gawker or another media outlet there would have been some type of blowback. Jay Thomas is too insignificant of a figure for anyone to care what he says or doesn't say.

No headlines needed; Jay was just being shocking.

People need to relax, and Rich should hit Jay back, like a good comic would.

Saying shit on the air saves people from getting in trouble. If you say something on air you can say "I was just doing a bit for the radio. I didn't mean anything I said!" When you say stuff on twitter or in private you no longer have the "I was doing a bit" defense. That's why Ant got away with saying all the shit he said about black people on the air without Sirius batting an eye but when he took to twitter to say the same shit he got shitcanned. He didn't have the "I was just trying to rile up the listeners to generate phone calls, etc." defense.

Ant only got fired because a bunch of cunts who seethed for years over everything he said sent screenshots of his rants to the fagrags like Gawker, et al.

One of those people posts here. I'm glad he faces the same inevitable death I do.

What Jay Thomas said was a bit.

What Ant tweeted wasn't

Ant never tweeted a threat of any kind, only that it would not ruin his night if violence befell the prostitute. Who the fuck hasn't wanted to see someone get their shit pushed in at one point or another? Fuck that's pretty much what this whole reddit is. Jay Thomas was a shit for bringing Vos' child into it, but saying he should be fired for being a cunt is kind of the opposite of what Ant and Jimmy are about.

So Ant said something honest on his personal-time, got fired for it, and you're good with that?

So a "bit" done on air about child abuse and spousal abuse is ok.....but a real moment tweeted off air by someone who was attacked and venting isn't? That's the entire point of my post, this pick and choose bullshit is sickening.

They don't pick and chose, social media does. No ones cares about what Jay Thomas said about Voss and his kid. You need a bunch of SJWs to get outraged like gawker. Then Sirius would pay attention. Ant's mistake was he did it on twitter where everyone can see instead of the show. Twitter kills careers.

i think that's the nature of the economics

You're missing the point.

The Jay Thomas bit was not intended seriously.

Ant's Twitter meltdown was.

You're a special class of entitled faggot who doesn't know anything about internal-combustion engines or Craftsman socket-sets and never really had to defend herself physically, aren't you? I suspect you own an Opie "Words Hurt*" tee-shirt, and "You're missing the point.".

Interesting response.
