Ant vs. Dugout Doug

7  2014-11-08 by drexler57346

I've been digging through some old threads about O&A in various dark corners of the internet, and I came across this post:

"The thread that started the pissing match that became the epic Ant vs Dugout Doug was based on Ant also trying to kill an extremely mild thread on the then very pro O+A FBA. I had forgot RF.net also got caught in that mess earlier."

So can anyone give a rundown of "Ant vs. Dugout Doug"? Sounds like some fun drama. Is the Dugout Doug who posts here the real Dugout Doug?

Ant used to have a LOT of people looking out for him, or at least they thought that was their job, on FBA. They were the paltalkers and the ones that took the show extremely serious.

Doug was an "original fan" and went off of Wackbag and I think created oaexperience and then FullblownAids(FBA).The FBA crew was living the high life and Doug was right in the middle of it all. The site was a new one away from Wackbag and the shit that was going on there in regards to banning, etc...I believe that he, Uncle Inky (who I think is now dead), Sinfiction, and a few others. The started FBA because Wackbag blew a goat and they wanted to have some fun.

Doug was considered "The General" of the O&A Army. Yes. This was a thing. Yes, the show had a lot of listeners that took to the streets, the radio, the internet, etc... to spread "The Virus"

When brother Joe talks about wanting to hang out with Ant, I'm assuming these were the types of guys that he was referring to.

Doug was banned from Paltalk, that probably may have started the drama. I don't remember: http://www.ftbfba.org/vbull/archive/index.php/t-3540.html

Doug and a lot of people were wanting to get some FBA acknowledgement on the show. This was kind of an overall creation of the hate for the way the show treated fans. They wanted to be assholes to everyone, and didn't really show love to those who supported them. Of course, it has been their demise...as you look around this place you are still seeing the effects of that mentality.

I'm sure there are others that know more about it and can fill in more of the specifics. Stuff took over FBA and it has now changed to OArundowns...which is kind of done at this point.

Wow, thanks man. Interesting stuff.

"General of the OA army" sounds douchey no matter what year it is, what the hell were they thinking?

To be fair, it was as close to a social army as possible before any sort of Facebook or Twitter.

Opie & Anthony would call out a show, someone, etc...and the "pests" would do their best to completely sabotage them. They were pretty good at it, too.

If the boys would have acted more appreciative of their fans, I'm sure that the pests would have been able to keep Ant at Sirius and to go around and completely destroy a lot of the shit that friends of the show, comedians, etc...have to deal with.

Just think of what happened to Vos this week. Opie taking sides with another Sirius DJ instead of Rich and Bonnie is completely insane...and it has completely flown under the radar. That shows how much the fans no longer give a shit.

wait what happened with vos?

Jay Thomas pretty much said that he would punch and kick Vo's ass, Bonnie's ass, and then he went on to say he would take care of the kid as well. Including "opening up her vagina" and some other shit.

I assumed that it was discussed on here, but I guess that it wasn't.

Hearing Opie and Jimmy not give a shit about it was appalling. Supposedly Opie is going to talk to "suits" because Jay threatened another Sirius employee..which is what TroyQuan did and he was suspended.

But if something like this would've happened a long time ago, Jay Thomas would be calling in with an apology. Not because of the boys but because of the fans.

I thought it was Jim who took Jay's side not Opie.

I see what you mean, I hadn't heard about this Jay Thomas thing though that's kind of fucked up. I wonder his reasoning behind it was.

Inky is not dead, I just talked to him the other day.

Good to hear! Who's the one that died?

No idea, but I also thought Inky died. He completely disappeared for like 2 years.

Doug follows Jesus...

This guy is right. Doug is a born-again now.

Ant recently talked about when he used to get all mentions of "Lobster Girl" deleted. A certain gal by the name of Melinda sucked the penis of intern "Spazz" on the air in exchange for them not boiling a live lobster. Melinda later became Ant's girlfriend and he became extremely sensitive about Lobster talk. I don't think that answers the question, but that explains at least one reason he had threads killed.

How the fuck did I miss this? I was an avid listener during the spazz days.

When did he talk about it? Ive been looking for that audio for yrs. i believe it happened on ron and fez. I thinknsomeone here said they have the audio but i havent seen it posted

It was on The Anthony Cumia Show.

It started with him talking about people accusing him of having threads deleted on his show's subreddit and he said he has nothing to do with that and wouldn't do that now, then explained how he used to do that in the past and told the story, but that he doesn't let the internet bother him anymore and he likes to read it. He said some people are smart and funny and others act like they have some inside scoop and have no fucking idea what they're talking about.

SinFiction is an ass

Did you also had an O@A army uniform, "general"? What a fucking douche.
