Hey all,

If like me, you've grown tired of listening to men in their 50s pretend to be cutting-edge radio broadcasters ("baby hit" Opie) or repeatedly ramble about race issues in the echo chamber that is Ant's basement (TACS honeymoon period is officially over), then I heartily recommend Big Jay Oakerson's Legion of Skanks.

It has the comedy hang, that attracted many of us to O&A initially. Less try-hard antics e.g. booze and weed are smoked freely in the studio without it having to be a "thing". It's also not afraid to get political, but at least there's always an opposing viewpoint at the table (unlike Ant's incessant lectures on race...), which is refreshing.

Just giving a head's up to those that haven't tried this podcast. Really has filled up the void left by O&A during my commutes.

I turned onto Legion of Skanks a few weeks ago and I'm fuckin' hooked. So damn good, it is a very good listen if you're sick of mediocre/bad radio from Opieraqio, give it a shot

They mentioned it was lost somehow. I forget why. Maybe it was just streamed on a site but not recorded? I remember them asking fans to send them in if they had it.

I dipped out of YKWD because everybody in the room kept talking over each other. I will admit it's been a long time so that situation could have been remedied.

i dipped out for awhile but he seems to have a solid group now with soder, gomez, list and scopo, didnt care for list and scopo at first but they're great, plus kelly frustuca left, for awhile it was a rotating cast but i think this one in permanent.

give it a chance, last episode with troy quan was pretty good, troy is a lot more likable off air, seems less douchey.

It took me awhile but I love Joe List and I'm so glad Kelly left the show. She was abysmally bad at comedy and it annoyed me how often Bobby would protect her from the trashings Luis or Dan were about to give her.

LOS and YKWD has filled the void of OnA for me, just a bunch of close friends making fun of eachother at every moment, and no stupid host like opie and no stupid angry political guy to bog down the comedy.

plus they have some of the craziest and funny stories i have ever heard, i think big jay and soder's sirius show is going to be this generations OnA type of show with basically just comics.

Yea ive been supplementing with legion of skanks too and ive started to just realize its not gonna be the same with o and j or ant. Unfortunately they are gonna slowly fade out with mediocrity like howard. I couldnt agree more about ants show. Basically everything he says is in past tense and its a story or point hes me 10000 times. No new experiences. It took me an episode or two to fully get into legion but now im hooked. It very much reminds me of all the good aspects of o and a without any of the bad. Cant reccomend it enough.

The grass doesn't stay greener for very long. I too went to LOS after quitting OandJ and Even TACS, and RF. Now my miserable ass comes here for my laughs. I laugh here more than I did on any of those shows.

Listening to Legion of Skanks while reading this thread.

Big Jay is just too fuckin funny. He somehow manages to kill it every episode. Hopefully they can attract some bigger guests soon... surprised Attell hasn't done an episode yet he is good friends with Jay

Just a recommendation that's all. There's of course plenty of old O&A content on youtube to exhaust, but judging by the death of this subreddit, and the TACS subreddit, I assume there's alot of old listeners looking for new content elsewhere.

Good idea OP. The problem is you're talking to loser douchebags whose lives appear to revolve around an obscure radio show that wasnt all the great to begin with and now doesnt even exist.
