I still listen to O and J and while it's not the same, I still think it is pretty good and I laugh often.
I get it, it's different and people don't like that change but this thread makes it seem like a train wreck daily. That just isn't the case. I agree that Opie was a rough a first and he still has the occasional douche moments but I think overall he has settled into his role pretty well.
I always thought Anthony was the funnier of the 2 but Opie did a better job of keeping the showing moving. Racist Anthony used to seem like a skit and was midly amusing, but it had become more and more real as the years went on and less and less funny.
I have listened to live from the compound and it's not bad and can be pretty good with the right guest. But I still prefer O and J and think it has morphed into a good show that I enjoy. I am sure this will get down voted like crazy, but I just don't get all the hate in this sub, it's over whelming. I guess I am the only person that enjoys the show.

And that right there is your problem. You are just one of the guys who get good natured belly laughs from the Todd Show, morning zoo radio, and Adam Sandler movies. Nothing wrong with that. The world needs soft soccer mom humor too. But people with dicks tend to like a little more entertainment and actual humor. And that is why we hate what Opie has turned the show into.

I don't think Jim Norton is soccer mom humor, nor our the guest comedians. It's easy to dismiss someone because you don't like Opie, but your response is weak at best.

I don't completely disagree with all the criticisms of Opie that people make of him, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother lots of other people here. I don't enjoy O&J as much as Anthony, I'd much rather they all be together again. I think the dynamic between all three of them is really what made it. Opie can be a hateable, clueless fuck, but I think he makes smart decisions as far as directing other talented people on the radio, at least better than most on the radio. He should probably just be a PD ironically, after he's talked so much shit about them, maybe he's just the rare person who's good at being a PD. I love the show. Wish anthony was still on it but he is not. What I don't get is how these faggots can still listen to show they claim they hate. It's like they suck Opies dick and then complain that they didn't like the taste, then come back and suck it again after they already know he hasn't washed.
