Does anyone listen to Stern?

I haven't in years. I check the shows reddit every few months and jeez its awful. Is the show really that bad, or are Howards fans just too old for REddit? When all people talk about is a boring interview with a huge celeb, and fucking awful disgusting Hanzi, you know shit can't be too compelling.
Who is uglier Hanzi or Roland? This is a battle for the ages

Haven't listened to the show in at least 2 years now. It was spiraling into a neutered version of itself, especially when they got rid of Artie. Billy West was nudged out of the show in a similar way. That stuff left a bad taste in my mouth, but between the incessant talk about his dog, his wife, and his side job on a gong show... It'll never be as entertaining as it used to be.

I tune in and out of it. It's still better than anything on FM radio, but yeah, the show has really mellowed out. I'm not sure how it couldn't have done otherwise. Howard got everything he wanted, so there wasn't anywhere else for him or the show to go. So now he has his hobbies and AGT. He's still a good instigator, and the crew can still crack jokes, but everyone has basically settled into their lives and their neuroses; there's no burning need in any of them to change or improve the show anymore.
Howard Stern fans are sort of like Apple users. They are well aware of the problems of the show, but being fans of the "top radio guy" makes the group mostly complacent as well. I never see the rabid hatred of OnA there that this subreddit has for Howard. None of them feel the real need to attack or defend anyone. The fans are just running on inertia, just like the show, and wait around for the occasional nuggets of good radio.

I stopped listening soon after they got rid of Artie. The show was still good for years after O&A fans claimed it had jumped the shark, though.

Haven't listened since the 90's but I have to admit I'm considering giving it another go.

Haven't listened since I switched to OandA in 2011. I followed ETM calls on youtube though, and listened the day after he passed away.
Dramatic changes have taken place. No more Ronnie/JD/Sal or other staff in studio anymore. No more Howard TV or wackpack involvement.
JD has a girlfriend though, and Benjy and Elisa broke up.
Ack Ack!

I've started listening to older shows, and he's not bad. He's a golden god genius at interviews and humor compared to opie.

Even now he's 1,000x more talented than Opie ever was, and he sucks now.

Yeah I've listened to a few Stern interviews now, and it's utter lunacy that Opie ever had the nerve to criticize him.

It was just another page out of HooHoo's playbook, but executed extremely poorly; you trash icons to try to elevate yourself to "icon" status.
The wacky thing is; HooHoo actually pulled it off. He's an icon, and he's sitting down and interviewing, and socializing with, other icons.
Opie's buying off-brand ketchup with Rich Vos.

I do from time to time recently. It's pretty clear the only reason there was ever a problem between O&A and Stern was Opies fault. Opie must have felt slighted at some point and is obsessed with Stern. If it had just been Ant and Jim all along I doubt there ever would have been a problem with Stern.

Stern has alienated most of his hardcore fans a long time ago. Stern invented haters ripping him apart on the internet, hoo hoo. I still check it out from time to time since I've got Sirius anyways, and it just feels like an old person's show now.

If you can believe it, its more boring than opies show

O&J is just fine. You guys are demented and seriously YOU STILL LISTEN EVERY SECOND. WHYYY?

Same reason I listen to Stern. To see how far they've fallen from the greatness they once were

listened every day until I switched to O&A in 2007 and kept up on the show w/ Howard TV until they pulled the plug on it. Tuned in for the Monday show after Eric the Midget died and have been listening to it every day since.
I listen to O&J in the afternoon.

Too much whining and persecution complex shit. I stopped listening 7-8 years ago. Richard Christie and Artie made the show for me.

I never could. I wanted to like Stern, but it's all whores and visual shit. By the time his show started airing on cable tv I was already over it. I may have enjoyed it more on TV but never gave it a shot. either way, he'd have been irrelavent to me once O&A entered my life

Not for 2 years. I really gave it a shot for almost 2 years after Artie left but celebrity-driven shows just aren't interesting. Hoo hoo.

The only time I listened to Stern was from 2003-2004 when WNEW flipped from talk to music and the boys hadn't started on XM yet. I only listened if I happened to be in my car in the morning, which was very rarely since I was in college but I needed my talk radio fix. I'd more often listen to Chris Booker in the afternoons on K-Rock.

Last time a listened to stern was his first week on Sirius when they did the secrets/ reveal bit for each person in studio. And adam carolla interview a couple years ago, that's it, used to be die hard listener like everyone else in the 90's.

Stern is impossible to listen to anymore.

When did Hampton's Howie pickup that god awful lisp?

With the new AGT choppers he admitted to going in for, then, when people started goofing on them immediately after he got them, he had his mic positioned to cover them, and he denied getting them!

Last time I recall listening to Stern was in the early 90's. My mom used to have his show in in the morning while she got ready for work.

Sterns show was still good during the E! days. He had Artie there to actually be funny, and I even was able to get off some loads from that show in my teen years. His luster wore off with the move to SXM, and completely went away after AGT
