It's especially exploitative and vulturish given that the show actually has a decent history of handling big stories and sensitive revelations from guests in the past (well, not all the time obviously). A lot of guests have talked about very serious shit on the show, addiction, depression, etc. Gary Oldman (addiction), Michael Clarke Duncan (homelessness), Joe Pantoliano (depression/suicide, though I think he might've done this on several shows) obviously some of the comedians (Giraldo's addiction, Patrice's rape conviction), there are a lot of others I can't remember. For as brutal as the show is, they often handle some of this stuff pretty impressively (Jimmy especially), it was one of the things that made them legitimately different.

Bobo played that game willingly, knew it was a bit, and vaguely understood that they were mocking him. Patty came close when she did the hypnotizing thing, but the difference is Opie didn't run to put a video of it online with his (lame ass) reaction.
The 'freaks" of the show were there willingly, and didn't have a problem with being shown as a freak. Even that true Di knew the cost of getting in the studio. They showed Di more respect than they did Tyson.
if you don't get why using a pretty fucking emotional sharing of Tyson's past deserves better than Opie flogging it online to get attention, or that he can't be part of a pretty serious discussion without talking like a teenaged girl, making it awkward, and thinking it's funny or worthy of applause for being a dick.

You're drawing arbitrary lines in the sand for a show that we listened to because they held nothing sacred and white knighting for a guy who has spent the last few years being completely open and honest about the horrible shit he has done and went through.
