Enough with Mike Tyson circle jerk

How many times did we have to hear how pissed they were for him when that reporter mentioned his rape conviction? Jimmy is so certain that he's innocent, and they spend the interview praising him like giddy little brothers. It's revisionist celebrity ball washing, but hey, Bill Cosby is a rapist too guys.

I actually have a lot of respect for Tyson. He's been a victim of people fucking him over his whole life, as a dancing bear. He went from someone everyone expected to be dead or in prison any day, to turning his life around, and learning from his mistakes. His self awareness now is astounding to how he used to be.
That's why it enrages me that Opie is shitting all over his confession to being abused to get a fucking viral video - Tyson deserves a LOT better treatment than that.

I respect him as an athlete, but he is a troubled individual who is a convicted rapist. I'm off put by the praise he's received in recent years, but especially when I hear the boys falling all over themselves to buddy up to him.

say convicted rapist more
1 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
I don't know what else to say! I suppose it's so present in my mind b/c I hear a lot of people compare him to athletes who have been accused of rape and then settled or were 'exonerated'. He was a full on felon despite having the funds to hire the best attorneys or pay off the victim.

So why would paying off the "victim" make him look any better?
I'd recommend reading into the case a bit more than you have.

Uh, b/c he wouldn't have spent 3 years in jail and avoided the stigma?
I've read into quite a bit and the more I learn the less I believe Tyson.

Can you elaborate? I have read a lot about the case and I find it really odd that Mike would rape a woman at a time in his life when women were literally lining up to have sex with him.

Well, if you want to apply logic to the case instead of actual evidence, does it really seem so out of the realm of possibility for him at the time? He was self-admittedly out of control at that point in his life and long after. You think a disturbed individual like him would just realize all the girls that he could have, instead of just taking the one in his room whether she wanted to or not. And if we are speculating, I think she went to his room and then it got too rough, and when she hit the brakes he had no intention of stopping.

It's not about Mike Tyson, you dumb cunt. It's about Opie being a fucking hypocrite (again) criticizing the media for something, and then doing the exact same thing. He's pulling a Nancy Grace move with this video.

This post has nothing to do with that, though?
-1 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
Get outta here reasonable Jimmy!
1 Anton_Lemieux 2014-10-30
I don't think that's a character of his.
0 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
I know, but it's like a mix between Literal Jimmy and Regular Joe.
2 Anton_Lemieux 2014-10-30
Do you get to make up new ones?
1 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
Yup, I'm the new character UH-Keed!

Wow, I didn't think that would lead anywhere.

He'll probably just call me a faggot, but it's still supporting the cause.
-2 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
No, it's about what I say it is dickface. Even if he'd never made that admission and Opie had posted no video, my point would still stand.

Am I the only one that's sick of Mike Tyson?
I watched his one man show. It was very compelling and interesting and told his whole story.
Now I never need to see or hear about him again.

Yeah, same with the Iron Shiek. They were great the first 10 times they were on in the past 2 years. They bore me now.
1 furmp 2014-10-30
you act like it makes sense for O&J to bash Mike Tyson during their time with him. like they're going to invite a guest on and trash him. sounds like a real solid plan for getting more guests in the future! dipshit.

Granted Iron Mike is a dozen times more compelling than a French pastry chef, but they already tip toe around his antics, excuse them, or refuse to mention them at all. Have they ever had an in depth conversation with him about the rape conviction itself, or just the resultant jail time?
-1 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
There's a world of difference b/t bashing him, and not telling him how inconsolable you were for a Canadian reporter mentioning your rape conviction. But that's my point, they are criticizing that reporter b/c they would never think to ask him about due to their beta fear and effusive celebrity praise.
1 snoopkhat 2014-10-30
im not interested in any of his shit.
1 CoolerKing37 2014-10-30
I remember when Patrice was talking about doing the Charlie Sheen roast that there was an agreement that none of the comics there could make fun of Tyson's rape charges. I wonder if there's a similar type deal when he does interviews with certain programs.
1 Sentinel_Event 2014-10-30
I doubt it, b/c he showed up that one day with Whoo Kid unannounced and they are pretty candid about everything else. But this seems to be the hot button issue that they voluntarily dance around whenever he's in.
