Its true, a narcissist isn't as concerned about how he is judged; he is worried more about teaching those around him something and sharing what he already believes to be true.

Its also the reason he can never defer to anyone, which is probably what drives us the most crazy. I think the new show would have a very different reception if he was a little more self aware and spoke with a modicum of modesty.
He could have been our bumbling idiot; it could have been endearing, and it might of worked. But no, we're ignoring the fact that the show is a disaster, we're trying to delete Ant from the public record, and we're pretending that everyone gets along just fine. Enough. Opie is not Ron Bennington and even Jim isn't even enough to make this new show a "hang".
IMHO, O&J may be able to attract some listeners but the show will never again have fans. Listeners don't travel a few hours to see Jim even though they don't love his stand up. That's what fans do. Listeners don't buy tee - shirts, signed autographs, or bumper stickers. Listeners didn't create the VideOandA channel. Listeners didn't make Jocktober what it was.
Opie's busy gaining 9000 listeners while telling the handful of remaining fans to find something else to listen to if the show has passed us by.
His whole "OpieRadio" identity is narcissism. His inability to laugh at anything funny that anyone else does or says is the autism. "Very good...very good... Let's go to Snowy in Michigan." Pure autism.
