Advocating for the deaths of people with irritating habits and annoying quirks isn't really social commentary or a message. It's more like just good advice.
Right, but Carlin did have social commentary albeit aggressive. Spot on about Norton though, I'm not comparing the two but they have different types of the social commentary or whatever you want to call it, only Carlin was able to make it funny rather than get too serious.
lol, I misinterpreted your original comment completely. I thought you were implying Carlin wasn't funny when he did social commentary and I made some half-assed joke dismissing it. I'm an idiot.
That was fucking hilarious!!!
Thank you so much for sharing that.
Thank God someone told Jimmy to stop doing that thing he did in American Degenerate where after every line he'd give a big smile. It was the most uncomfortable and distracting thing ever.
Great material, great delivery; I'm really proud of Jimmy.
I think doing the Jim Norton show really paid off for him, seems like he's on a much more relatable level now, could just be the intimate setting but I hope his next special is like this.

He just needs to do clubs instead of theaters. Everything I've seen from him at Carolines is awesome, but in a theater it's not as intimate.

I like that it looks like it's being filmed through a gloryhole...Really are getting the Jim Norton experience.

Why isn't he this good in his specials? He comes off so much more relaxed and natural here.

My theory is that he tries to inject social commentary and messages into his specials at the expense of being funny.

Kinda like what Carlin would do

I'm not sure whether you're saying Carlin did that or Jimmy does that, I know they both have but which are you referring to?

Carlin. Jimmy advocated more of just shitting in their mouths.

Surprised at myself for liking a set from Jimmy. Usually I don't find his funny.
Him and that water bottle, though. Up and down, up and down with not one drink. HAHA
