You are not alone. The start of the week with Florentine set the pace. That show was so cringey. Poor gregshells.

i take so much shit from my friends about hating Florentine on the show but whenever he's on the entire show becomes Opie trying to gain Florentine's approval and Florentine, a middle aged adult man, talking about what is c00L or uNc00L. so fucking boring.

You have friends that listen? I havent met anyone that listens, any of you fuckwads from delaware? Im just down the road from the philly crew

no unfortunately i live in the sf bay area, where everyone is constantly offended, so there were only small blips of time where the boys played out here. so i don't have any friends out here that listen. but.....ugh... i have...ugh....internet friends.

as jimmy would say, i should be shot.

Greggshells is hucking out terd after terd.

No wonder he needs a day off, maybe he is show prepping...

No he is watching his kids while his wife sleeps with cucumber slices on her eyes, and the paid nanny watches the Price is right in his bedroom.

Emasculated cunt.

jeeziss...........

I'm with you. I'm someone who still enjoys the show, but the opening rock doc/book discussions have been a bummer.

same here, i really still like the show. they're part of my morning ritual. i've been listening since i was 11 years old and i've enjoyed it through all the different phases. but jesus christ if i have to hear about fucking Ginger Baker one more time i'll rip my own ears off.

I think thats why they take suggestions on an opening song. They play a foo fighter song or a cake song and it gives them a good little 30-60 minute discussion about the band/genre.

agreed. it's such a....tssss...cheap trick.....

Which might be tolerable if it wasn't Opie talking about "the biggies as far as blues guys go" and "the punk rock movement in chicago" by reading factoids off a sheet of paper yet pretending like he's knowledgeable on the subject.

Honestly, I'd rather he came in and just talked about his kids to Jim if it could create a real conversation between the two of them. Every second of the show now seems like Opie is trying so hard to fit it into the formula of "radio bit".

I'm not even listening anymore. I just listen to Anthony and old O&A clips on youtube. I think I might catch up with Stern.

I realized it a couple of years ago, and it made so much sense to me: Opie is just an old rock jock, that's it. He's not a "talk show" guy, he doesn't have the skillset. He lucked into the show in its format for all those years. Now he's become like Garth in that part in Wayne's World when Wayne quits the show, and it's just Garth left on the couch. Our Wayne got fired for racist tweets.

I liked Spurlock

i liked Sherrod Small too. and Whoo Kid. I like when any black guys are in studio bc the boys are seriously lacking culture since Patrickey left us.

I don't know what you're talking about, that opie guy is fawkin' good
