I could've lied and.....

For someone that says,"I'm not gonna lie" and "I could've lied" several times a show, you'd think this guy was the most honest person alive. But sadly, that's not the case. Just think of all the lies he COULD have told us....

ME: I took a little bit of psych in college, plus I like to study people. When someone says "I'm not gonna lie" it usually means they're lying.

I CAN READ PEOPLE. I'M REALLY GOOD AT THIS.

Yes he can, remember he took speed reading classes as a kid so he could read a whole book before Andy Kaufman's friend came in. Speed reading by Opie.

Except the last 30 pages. Every time.

Or....I had a staffer pull together some notes, pick out some detailed parts and the 30 pages I didn't read are my out clause.

ABSOLUTELY not!

What gets me is "Uh, here's a good question...". The person asking the question has no place saying that.

I wish Opie wouldn't lie so much. I know he's trying to make good radio for us but it just hurts my feelings. It makes me sad that he thinks we'll think he's cool if he's all in with disgusting restaurant kitchen antics. He even went as far to say he'll eat food with roaches crawling on it.

Granted it was a great bit, but c'mon Opie, just be yourself, breh. Be that lame queer in those coke videos.

It honestly offends me. When the guy claims he hosts the most honest show on radio and bashed every lying guest or fellow broadcaster, yet can't make it a week without telling some fake story to thousands of people across the nation...

It's disgusting to me that he thinks the fans are too stupid to realize he's taking a dump in our ears. Same reason it bothers me when he does Florentine's, "whyyy would I enjoy that?" It's another form of lying

I don't really mind bits and dishonesty in radio. It can be done masterfully, but Opie isn't really smart enough to blur that line between bullshit and reality. He instead goes for a "entertaining lie", and only claims it's a bit after nobody is on board with him. It's sad.

He's like Chip, but at least Chip has the gall to keep lying after everybody knows he's lying, which makes it funny. Chip is such a dumb idiot that he can't stop lying. He's over the top. Opie however is just a lying version of himself, and under any criticism he becomes paper mache in rain.

"I can't even remember how it ended..."

"It was so long ago I can barely remember what she looked like...Oh yeah, now I remember because you said something mildly interesting, that happened to me too. Your thing reminded me of my thing..."

It's so fucking blatant. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it is in studio.

When someone is clearly lying, they look around at other people's expressions to see if they are buying it. I can imagine him bouncing back and forth between Jimmy and Ant seeking approval, but I know they couldn't make eye contact during those verbal atrocities

I guess the difference is when you're pumping up a story to make it funnier, than there's lying to make yourself look cooler. Or just lying for no reason. Making up a story about being a bookie or being of a fan of something that he's not is just... fucking nuts.

OTOH, I'm cool with him pumping up the Chester story from probably just foot shoving the dog away from his dinner into kicked him so hard that he probably killed it.

"Lame queer in those coke videos." Sir, that's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

basically he is saying "i could've have lied like i usually do to pump up the story but i DIDNT this time"

They should really have Tucker Max back in. Not only for the irony, but just to him and the Opster swap stories

ME: "I can't BELIEVE we got off to such a bad start! He KILLED on the show today!"

Opie's used that idiotic crutch for years. There's a clip out there where he calls out another radio-hack for using the term. "When someone says 'I'm gonna be honest with ya.', they're NOT gonna be honest with ya!". No kiddin?

if you end your stories with " True story" it makes it true in your mind
