Remember When It Was Constant Complaining About Management??
11 2014-10-16 by donkeytrotter
I almost gave up on the show about a year ago, when everyday Opie would start bitching and complaining about management and how they were treated around there. Jimmy and Anthony would get quiet, and occasionally chime in, but it was Opie - everyday - nonstop. Now that Ant is gone, there seems to me much less bitching about management. Opie is like the skinny little prick at the bar trying to pick a fight with some guys, when he has a MMA fighter standing next to him.

He never said they had 9000 new listeners. He said the audience for the channel grew by 9000 subscribers. So SiriusXM sold 9000 All Access premier subscriptions. Subscriptions that also include every NFL game. So in the month of September, with NFL season starting, I wonder how many of those 9000 people signed up for SiriusXM Talk featuring Opie and Jim or how many of them signed up for the NFL games.
I wonder if the audience for the channel will decrease by 9000 in January when football is over.

>Now that Ant is gone, there seems to me much less bitching about management.
Wild assed guess ->It may be due to the fact that he realizes that he's still employed at their pleasure and he's lucky to have a gig with Ant being gone. He's not exactly good at his job and has to realize that by now.

Management likes the way the show sounds: Meandering and neutered.

Ha! File that one away for the next rebranding - "Meandering and Neutered in the Morning."

ME: you don't get radio or management, nice try on the hate tho

If you don't have your own morning show you have no right to an opinion anyway.

Exactly. Also if you make anything less than a million bucks a year you may as well not even open your mouth. Let's compare bank accounts.

Who has time to complain when you'r too busy 'killing it' on a daily basis.

Like the time on a walkover when Kenny or Po took care of some guy on the street and the Brave Little Opster screamed in the guys face like a big scary man.

He doesn't make near enough money to understand what is going on.

This show is like the Godfather if Fredo got the spot and not Michael.

Opie will probably keep his mouth shut for a while since XM Just gave him 2 years worth of pay when the market for him was pretty low. They also probably gave Opie and Jimmy some token concessions (More control over programming and some minor studio upgrades) to show them some love.
And either one of two things are going to happen. Either the show isn't successful and they place the blame on management. Or the show is successful and they bitch about it being in spite of management.

Opies Chair Drama

I clicked the link and then got distracted by something else in another window. 10 minutes later I realized I was still listening to Opie bitch.

100 bucks says it was Ronnie B who broke his chair, the fact that Don Wicklund went out of his way to take the heat and responsibility to leave Ronnie out of it pretty much proves it. And the irony being Opie reveres Ronnie.

I never understood what the complaining was about. At least for the middle manager types that they were normally bringing up. Those guys don't control the budget for promotions and studio upgrades. And they were completely hands off with on air stuff.
5 ZombieKetchup 2014-10-16
The only time I disliked them was when they made their presence felt by stopping a bit like the time they stopped Bobo, Stalker Patti and Sandy Kane from doing some nasty shit . Actually good thing management was there to stop that.
3 Crigger540 2014-10-16
I bet if Opie told Bobo that he had to suck the cock of everyone in the room to stay on the show he would - God I hate that needy fuck.
4 PrinceCharmin 2014-10-16
Hands off? Were you even listening to the same show? If we start listing the bits they were forbidden to do, we'd be here all day. Sirius and their lawyers have controlled what they can and cannot do on air since the first day of the "merger".
2 TheMonkfish 2014-10-16
Yeah - I never saw the management/studio talk as interesting.
Management silenced the 40 year old skateboarder and fired the poison dwarf, so they are alright in my book.
3 AngeloMacon 2014-10-16
Even those decisions was made by Scott Greenstein who is rung higher than the Rob/Gary/Sabean level that they normally bitch about.

SXM firing Ant put the fear of God in Opie!
