Opie Grateful...?
2 2014-10-15 by [deleted]
In the 9 years I've been listening,I have heard Ant,many times, say how grateful and thankful he is to Opie for bringing him in and for his radio career, etc. But,I have never ONCE heard Opie express any kind of gratitude or thanks to Anthony for being, let's face it,the reason the show even exists. If anyone has heard Opie give Ant the props he deserves, please let me know. I would love to hear it!!

It's never been said. He clearly shows gratitude for and fawns over the incredibly talented and compelling Brother Wease, but nothing for the guy that made him a career while he color commentated and did the board op thing.
The closest I've heard him say "thanks" to Ant was acknowledging that the two of them had special chemistry.

You're probably right. I held off on subscribing for a few weeks because I wasn't sure he could pull it off solo or without it becoming another LFTC shitshow, but seems to be doing good radio, even when only Rat and KTT are around.

Ant has the ability to jump into any conversation and make it interesting, and if it's not, start fucking around with Jimmy.
Opie used to be all in for that - he did a LOT of the cringe stuff at XM, before they started getting celebs - fucking with authors while Jimmy peed on the book or tore pages out, trying to break a toothpick sculpture, driving the one man Star Wars guy out of the studio, the infamous poker chips, hanging up on Tommy Lee, I just want to know what happened to that guy. He could have fun. This new guy, "The Opester", he doesn't seem to know how to have fun.

I've heard him say it more than a few times over the years. Not as much as Ant, but he has.

You know the Opster put this all together and would be successful no matter what the situation was. Always one step ahead
