Thursdays Show was Excellent...

1 out of 20. terrible ratio. but still, when a show is good it needs to be acknowledged. Thursdays show with Soder was EXCELLENT. HILARIOUS. Jimmy was on fire. Dan is the perfect personality for Jim to go back and forth with. They have similar senses of humor..much like Jim & Ant did. I hope there are more shows like this. Again, as almost everyone has said, this show NEEDS a third comedian mic. Just not Florentine. Please. Soder as a permanent third mic would work.

I think Jimmy stopped giving a crap about Opie's ship steering. At the end of the show Funzi kept talking over the Gayle video, to the detriment of the Opster.
You could tell he was getting pissed and Funzi kept doing it. After the fourth time Opie said " We're not gonna keep doing the bit, where we pretend we think he's not gonna talk over it. "
Hopefully Jimmy's personalities high jack the show and Opie starts freaking out all the time. I would enjoy listening to that. It would be a great way to use all the hatred towards Opie to benefit the show.

Jimmy is one of the great radio personalities I've ever heard. I remember rolling my eyes when I heard Joe Rogan say something similar on his podcast, but after going through an extensive amount of the catalogue I have to agree. I haven't listened for a while, but when Jimmy treats Opie as an anti-intellectual foil, he is as witty as ever. When Opie went off on his hatred of letting the autistic/ disabled kids run a touchdown, Jim and Soder's rebuttal was hysterical.
It's Opie's constant dumb guy attitude that makes me turn the dial. For example, Bill Murray is one of my favourite actors. The guys bring him up, and I'm interested in hearing their take on him. Opie takes his usual dumb/stupid route and his thesis is, "He's weird, and he does these dumb, weird movies." Jim just counters with "Yeah." The show is anti-sellout and hates the corporate mentality of Hollywood and one of the few guys that makes movies for artistic merit gets shrugged off as a dope that makes boring movies. I'm not sure how the Wes Anderson catalogue is viewed on this sub, but even if Jim tore it apart for a specific reason, it would be fun to listen to. The faux gravelly voiced "what do we have on this...I don't know" is beyond grating.

This is the worst thing about opie to me. It's exhausting to listen to. All of the fake emphasis and phony opinions gets my piss to a boiling point.

He has nothing on that, but he'll get angry and describe in length why he hates the Kardassians

I like Florentine, they just need to stop with the "Jim, what do you think about x?" Let it come naturally. Stop pointing it out and making a big, obvious bit out of it. Also, stop commenting on how Florentine is the arbiter of cool and everyone wants to be cool in the eyes of Florentine. That's just you, Opie.

Yeah. O&A/J was about letting comedians come on and just be conversational: they hated guys that came on and did their "5 minutes."
Opie practically tells Florentine to do his podcast/bits when he asks those questions. It's antithetical to the entire premise of the original O&A/J show.
It's like when late night talk show hosts look at a card and go "So, do you have any pets?" And the celebrity goes "Actually, yes! I just got a new cat last week! Funny Story..."

Opie, Jim and Soder would work. But Opie would never let it happen because it'd mean he'd need to take a back-seat to Soder whose personality is strong enough to lead.

Sounds like Soder and Big Jay are in talks with siriusxm to have their own daily talk show. That's what Big Jay said on Bert Kreischer's podcast anyway.

I thought there show was really good. Not sure how they're going to do a daily show if both of them go on the road for periods of time though.

Nobody does comedy on Mon/Tues/Wed. If they get paid enough, they can easily not take Thurs spots. On Fridays, they could do a live show from NY and then fly and be able to make it to anywhere in the US in time for a comedy show, or they could do a pre-tape, or they can take spots together and do the show live from whatever city they are performing in. Plus you'd assume that having a regular radio gig would allow them to not have to book gigs every week.

Imagine how great the channel would be if they had
OJ In The Morning
Soder & Big Jay, afternoons
Ron & Fez, evenings

I believe Soder has a radio background and it really shows. I think he is kinda corny but he is still really good. He pretty much seems like a semi-permanent thing but I do like the rotating comedian thing.

Jim asking "What are you doing?" when Opie was drumming on the console like a retard made me smile.

Actually, I think Jimmy has been great for the last 2 weeks or so. Sleepy Jimmy's the best.

Vos needs to be removed from the room when any interview goes on. He's terrible and it all comes back to him.
Florentine is good, but enough with the carnival tricks
Soder is great, could use a couple more voices or limit them more. Can get exhausting quickly
0 butthead22 2014-10-12
Vos is funny in interviews because he says retarded stuff, but it's not on purpose.

Here he is asking an astrophysicist about the Bermuda "Twiangle" while NDT is describing interactions with a black hole. Vos then goes "where are the missing trains?" He brings up Jewish people later that wrecks the interview.

I actually thought they had a great week. They are improving slowly but surely.

They're figuring it out.

More Soder, less Florentine and Vos.
Soder as a more natural riffing vibe with Jimmy, in the same way Ant and Jim would play to each other, Soder and Jim do as well.
Thursday was a very funny show, finally. It will be tough to get the haters to admit it, but it was a funny show.
