Ant's show is still using his half of the brand. This stuff carries collateral and matters. Opie pretty much got fucked on all fronts in all of this. At least he can get "Opie Radio" on the channel, website, etc.

Anthony had no choice but to strike while the iron was hot. He capitalized on the notoriety of the Times Square incident to ensure he had a good lead into his show.
It was no coincidence that he launched a show from scratch in under a month. He was fresh in everyone's mind.
Opie screwed himself. He turned the show into a melodrama, is at constant war with callers and essentially made hardcore fans choose Anthony over him.
And, people can say what they like - Opie did not handle Anthony's departure well. He completely disenfranchised the fan base when he did a total reversal on his feelings about SXM and management.

The opie part of opie and Anthony still works as a recognizable brand. Anthony cumia? Casual passerby wouldn't know shit about that.

I mean super casual. Like maybe they've heard of the show and tuned in for a few minutes here and there. If one of those people saw "Opie Radio" they would think, "who is someone named Opie that does radio? I wonder if it's the dude from that one show?"
