They sound shady as fuck. The disclaimer is longer than the ad. "Industrial Bank" . WTF Bill, first vinyl only comedy special, now advertising for people that make the bankers seem like Doctors without Borders.
If you're asking about Prosper, it's not a predatory loan company as far as I know. It seems to be a deal where you apply for a loan and if approved, other prosper users can invest in your loan and receive the interest income when you make payments. Thus, it seems to be more of a peer-to-peer lending service and Prosper is the middle man, presumably charging fees along the way.
Assuming that my uninformed paragraph above is correct, then I guess it would be a way for people to take out loans without the banks getting involved. Thus, in that way I guess it is consistent with Bill's general hatred of banks. It still may be shady as fuck though.
It's like Montel Williams doing pay day loan adverts. It's blatantly hypocritical. Burr blasted banks as awful institutions, now he is pimping the lowest of the low.
Billy sells out theaters, why does he need to do these shitty advertisements?
I definitely am starting to lean towards what Bill Hicks was saying and it's even more ironic considering that Billy Burr used to be "THE BANKS ARE FUCKING US!" guy:
No, I don't find it weird that a comedian isn't only selecting advertisers that compliment his personality for an hour a week podcast he does. What I do find weird is that you listen to a hilarious podcast, and instead of just enjoying it hear the comedian doing a live read, then run to the computer to call him a hypocrite for promoting a company that has obviously paid him more than others to promote them.
Nothing I said in there was misogynistic, you dickbag. 2. I know, everybody's just a blind, ignorant sheep and you're the brilliant one who sees through it all MANNNN! Please kill yourself.
I bought 50 oil wells and am currently posting from my swimming pool filled with Surge soda. That's right, the soda that was discontinued. I'm so Goddamned flush with cash I put it back in business, or as we in the game call it, "bidnass!"
Pretty simple really. If Bill had to pick between Sully the loan shark from Boylston st. and the Intergalactic Imperial Syndicate of Everlasting Misery and Oppression, we all know what he'd do.
I like how some of the posters brought up Hicks. He did a bit about some company in England wanting him to shill Orange Drink, and he stated in a humorous yet serious way he could never do so because it would make anything he says on stage just empty words.
Move to LA, sell your integrity for acting spots, stop trashing TPTB because they pay better.
Hicks at least stuck to his morals, Billy redtwat got a role on Breaking bad and thinks he is part of the club now.
How do you not understand the difference in scope?
This shitty loan company is not trying to systematically depress/enslave 90+ percent of the human population and force them into that position through overwhelming economic power and system rigging. They're out to worm a few gullible dopes out of their money.
It would be like going from vehemently opposing the highest levels of organized religion, to having dinner with the lone missionary of a brand new one no one's ever heard of.
No really the best defense. Just say he likes money. I never thought he gave that much of shit about those things anyway. It just made for great radio.

Yeah, I doubt he's ever given that much of a shit.
Shari's Berries is probably run by the mob, too.

Because there are 190000 podcasts and 12 people listen to each one. Only shit advertisers bother, heard the ads on sirius lately? Same problem

Not the case with Anthony's podcast. Mobile Sprinkler Timer Dot Com is the premier juggernaut of lawn watering phone apps.

Billy boy has been complaining about bankers and shit for years. What gives?

L.A. either gave him a whole new look at the world, or a company was willing to pay him more than others to do a quick live read.

no, you're being far too logical; this must remain a personal attack on what we perceive as flaws in a comedians personality.

Ugh what a fucking weirdo. I bet your one of those creeps who believes he knows someone just because he listens to them talk a couple hours a month.
