What are the worst "HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON" moments from Opie?

Can we get a compilation going? The loudest and the most obnoxious interruptions you can think of.

Jim was trying to talk and Opie started singing Korn's Freak on a Leash. He plowed over Jim and Travis repeatedly and then asked, "Erock, we got that one to play into break? It doesn't really matter what we do."

Way to go, Carson Daly. Do we have the 16 year old Korn song to play instead of listening to Jim Norton?

he derailed what jim and travis were talking about with the freak on a leash shit to segway into bitching about getting shit over having lady di on the phone. great way to steer the ship into more bitching and justifying what he does instead of letting a possibly fun topic with multiple people chiming in go on.

People love to hear complaining!

Ugh, this is another one that actually angers me. Jim and Travis are having what could easily become a good conversation, and then what does he plow over Jimmy and Travis to talk about? The "haters". God. Fuck off you fucking old, useless burden.

Too bad he doesn't have the self awareness that he just did something that prove the "haters" are right.

This is how you know Opie is absolutely terrible. Imagine if he came in for a week to "steer the ship" and did shit like that? They'd hate him. Or imagine if they were listening to some show on Jocktober and one of the hosts interrupted a conversation to sing a shitty song from 1998. They'd tear him to pieces. But because he started a horrible incarnation of the show 20 years ago, he just gets a a pass. Ugh.

But because he started a horrible incarnation of the show 20 years ago, he just gets a a pass.

I was listening to an old show the other day where they were talking about Ant's old jobs and he mentioned how he got into radio, then Opie barges in like "AHEM AHEM you mean when I discovered you", as if his brilliant eye for talent is what made Ant's career. Ant was like "oh yeah? listen, SAVIOUR...". Opie truly believes that his talent is what saved Ant from obscurity instead of the other way around. If he never met Anthony he'd be A FUCKING GREASE SPOT!

After that awful shit trampling....

Opie: "...It doesn't really matter what we do anymore, you know there are just some dopes who should not be listening anymore"

Jim sounding defeated: "yeh?"

Puts on the "I don't care about this show" routine then bitches about people not liking the show. Quit pumping out shit, fuck-tard

Although he e does have a point with the "go listen to something else".

I'm TRYING to listen to something else: Jimmy.

That's the bit!

Finally, someone gets me.

This is why I hate people splitting hairs on other shit he does. There's stuff like this that is just indefensibly bad. It's hard to argue he adds to the show when he takes so much away.

His singing voice sounds very similar to his retarded mongoloid mocking voice of Jeremy from the other week.

Just his name Opie sounds like you should be saying it with your tongue sticking out the side of your mouth.

Opie Interrupts Bill Burr

One of the most infuriating examples I've ever heard. Actually SCREAMING "WAIT" that loud. It almost sounds like a caricature of Opie the "haters" (listeners with legit, understandable criticisms) would create. How about you wait till the talented one is done speaking? Have an actual conversation? That's just too much for the ship steerer, I guess. Any thought that crosses his dumb, untalented mind just HAS to be spoken the second he has it no matter what anyone else in the room is saying or doing.

The worst part about this, and I've said it before, is that he literally says that Bill tells the joke better than him, yet continues to plow ahead.

What the fuck

Opie tells the story, poorly, then asks Burr to do the story justice since he tells it better.

Why did Opie shout to interrupt the show to poorly tell a story that Bill Burr was going to do?

What a needy boob.

Exactly. The fact he does this all the time is bad enough, but that he literally SCREAMS "WAIT!" in this one. Ugh. Just makes me cringe so bad.

It's amazing that a guy whos "been doing radio since he was 18", is that awful and has that little of a clue to have a real, interesting, back and forth conversation on the radio. He's absolutely incapable of it. So fucking awful.

It's a shame so many hours of radio were wasted on his boring, unfunny, unentertaining, uninteresting self over the years. I don't give a shit if he started the show. He started a horrible incarnation of it 20 years ago. That doesn't change the fact that he eventually grew into absolute burden for what became a good radio show in spite of him...

someone was uploading early appearances of Vos on the OandA show and the first shows are littered with opie repeating stories someone just told and inturrupting. ive had to skip entire breaks of the show because his need to interupt and talk over everyone https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDBJ7Qpn7aMxEuookAWS98Ud3-JYJ8CJV (playlist link)

Holy shit...sometimes I think he can't possibly be as bad as this subreddit makes him out to be, and then I hear a clip like this.

OK - that's just awful.

It doesn't help that Opie's mic is like 8 thousand decibels louder than everyone else's in that clip.

ME: "dB"? What's a "dB"? "Dick bag"? [cue laughter in head]

There was one with Ben Mezrich a couple of weeks back that was about as bad as I can remember.

http://youtu.be/5h8ynh1tqMA?t=54m

Unreal, the clip starts out with Opie yelling, "Hold on, Sam"

Honestly, that's not really a bad thing. Less Sam, the better.

This one isn't as over the top as many of his interuptions, which in some ways, actually makes it worse. Jimmy is talking about how K Rock wanted to dump him before they cancelled the show altogether, and Opie can't help but make it all about himself. I have it cued up to the most annoying, from 3:03 to 4:12: http://youtu.be/Lnc5X38ztso?t=3m3s

at 3:40 in the middle of jimmy talking about the topic opie inturrupts with a "You know what management didnt like about me?" and you can hear someone scoff in the background and ant mumbles something. how many times did they have to sit through this inturrupting ass?

He has nothing to contribute. The only thing that consistently comes out of an Opie interruption story is a silence that Chippah D can only dream of causing.

It's nauseating.

This is classic Opie. Person is talking-> Opie bluntly interrupts to say his self centered thought-> other person awaits silently->...silence...(making sure opie's done)->other person goes back to his point ->Opie interrupts AGAIN with traces of his unfinished rant.

"I know you're in the middle of something but ME ME MEEEEEE"

Includes one of my favorite Opie rejoinders: "Whuddya gonna do?".

Here's another Bill Burr moment. I was going to link to the video, but it was taken down so here's the reddit thread instead.

Bill and Ant were debating Hybrid cars with Steve C, when Opie decided it was time to share his two cents:

"HOLDONHOLDONHOLDONHOLDON!!!" "I WOULD BUY A HYBRID CUZ IT LOOKS COOL! THEY LOOK GAY DUDE, NO WAIT WAIT WAIT. DUDE WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE EM LOOK COOL BILL?!?!"

when i made that thread... all i could think of that day was the realization that opie is a hole

Haha, you didn't even mention Opie's bullshit. But every thread must turn into Opie-bashing, just like every number is divisible by 1. It's the lowest common denominator that unites this group of assholes.

How about Every time Patrice got on a roll, while making a good point.

Damn nigga you smart, you should go on jeopardy

I couldn't even win, playing the box game Kids Jeopardy!

You sound like Opie after misinterpreting praise from the Waynes Brothers.

Wayans Brothers? I guess I missed that. What happened?

all of 2013

Patrice trying to talk to a 40 year old woman about cougars.

Jesus, he actually barked at Patrice when he tried to talk.

I'm not the biggest Carlin fan but ... there you go.

Not exactly the same thing, but listen to the end. It's him stopping everything just to do some shit he wants to talk about. Like everyone's into the discussion and Mr Show Runner has to flex his muscles by deciding that they need to go to break.

He's even shitty at that. Listen to the shows without him. After everything is calmed down and everyone's done laughing and joking (because they're allowed to reach that point because the burden known as Opie isn't there to hit the brakes for no reason), and thing have reached their peak, THEN he says "Alright, why don't we take a break".

Opie is just awful at EVERYTHING. Both the role of funny guy that hes not suppose to play (but does anyway), and the role of "ship steering". God, just thinking of all the hours and hours of great radio we could have had over the years if his useless ass wasn't there to drag everything down...

Exactly. The fact he does this all the time is bad enough, but that he literally SCREAMS "WAIT!" in this one. Ugh. Just makes me cringe so bad.
