The channel is being slowly removed from SirusXM imo
7 2014-09-17 by xxTakeFromMexx
I was at best buy and I decided to go to the SXM booth. It was like the guys were completely removed from the face of the company. Opie and Anthony is gone from the display for obvious reasons, but they act as if even SiriusXM Talk doesn't exist. On the channel lineup pamphlet, channel 103/206 is gone. It goes right from indie to the next channel. I don't know if that means anything but it seems like they're just trying to rid the company of everything to do with them. Thoughts? Also I was the guy who called into Sams show last week but I don't think he understood what I was saying about this. It could be nothing, but then again it could be a little subtle hint.

I don't know they're talking on the show (I'm about an hour and a half behind) now about what to really name the show. I'm thinking they both re-signed or it's a done deal.

This combo has been named before, Grim in the morning. They have drops and imaging for it already.

If they re-name the show they have to take the fucking Opie name out.

He's never take the Opie name out. That's the 'brand.'
12 [deleted] 2014-09-17
The "brand" was Opie & Anthony.
4 Buzz_Killington_III 2014-09-17
Scott and Todd were brand. When they split, Scott Shannon was still a brand unto himself. 'Opie' is the brand of Gregg Hughes.

Well it's a shit one. "The Opie Show" means nothing to most people.
2 Buzz_Killington_III 2014-09-17
Neither does the Opie and Anthony show, but to people that it does, it's easy to see The Opie Show and say 'Oh, this is probably the Opie and Anthony guy's show since Anthony got fired for that hoopla I saw in the news.'
The Gregg Hughes show means nothing to even fewer people; many casual fans don't even know that's his name. For this reason, 'Branding' is a valid reason to keep the Opie name.

But he's always bitching about how much he hates the Opie nickname...now's his chance to break with it. But he won't because he sucks.

He says that as a way to laugh 'with' people who laugh at it. He won't change it.

I mean if that's the case, they deleted the show years ago, I've never seen it advertised on any of the printed or web material.

You should have cut a glory hole into the SXM booth and sucked off the entire Geek Squad.

Back when it was still The Opie & Anthony channel, they put it on the channel lineup as the very last channel in the Talk & Entertainment category, and channels with higher numbers displayed before them.

what kind of a draw is Sirius XM talk with Opie Hughes and Jim Norton? Nobody outside of the people already subscribing who are fans would even think that's remotely a draw. SXM simply wants to maintain the listeners they have, they will sink no more money into the show than they have to.
