joe and big jay are good eggs. i wish big jay was around years ago when the show was really on a roll

People always forget he was on the show during the Bobo boner bit the first time Patrice saw it. He also said on his Legion of Skanks podcast that he always bows out to the funnier guy in the room, and going against Patrice, Jimmy, and ant he didn't push for his presence.

He has been on Ron and Fez several times though.

Yeah, I forgot about that. And I love him on Ron and Fez

He killed it at the Patrice Benefit this year by the way.

I love them both

I do wish Joe would still treat his podcast like a conversation. Joe cuts off Big Jay off to build and defend his own argument, when Jay is agreeing with him

It is always nice to hear a different angle on something

I like Rogan and used to listen to the podcast all the time, but he does this devil's advocate thing all the time now that is so fucking annoying. I feel like Big Jay could have said "Murder is bad" and Joe would say "Well...I don't know. It depends on the context. I mean, if I don't know all the details..." Shut the fuck up with your "playing both sides" shit and just talk like humans.

Yeah for a guy who can be such an entertaining and natural conversationalist he does have those what the fuck moments where he won't let basic shit go and fact checks or disrupts the flow in a weird way. He was a bit like that on O&A when Gervais was there, needlessly verifying shit that was being discussed.

Yeah, he was on some obvious high horse bullshit on this one. "Ummm chicks get raped all the time dude". ..... he was a "thats not cool" away from being that guy.

yeah, there were quite a few times I wanted to jump through the screen and shake joe to tell him, "He's fucking agreeing with you, ya cunt...quit trying to have a difference of opinions all the time." And I feel like Jay was trying to bring a little humor into the podcast and Joe would just shut him down, JJ Watt style. It wasn't an awful podcast, but I've heard better, thats for sure.

Most of the time he does treat it like a conversation if you ask me.

Have you really not noticed his podcast has become more and more one sided? Joe has been cutting off his guests to justify his perspective or play devil's advocate. I want to hear cool shit and humor, not Joe Rogan deconstructing a simple subject for the 20th time trying to be serious

The Nick Youssef (Podcast #531) was unlistenable and thats when I realized the podcast isn't the same. Nick is a rising comedian and is legitimately funny but Joe would not let him get a word out. It has been increasing over the last year or so

If you go back to the #300s you can hear a big difference between how he interacts with his guests. Big Jay gets cut off so often as he's winding up and his jokes get ignored as Joe plows ahead to drive his point home.

I'm not a hardcore listener. I don't listen in order or to every new one, I just pick ones from the entire history with guests who sound interesting to me at that moment. So maybe it's gotten more towards what you are saying over time and I wouldn't realize it.

Man, you describe him perfectly.

Rogan's a prick too. Telling Jay 'that doesn't connect at all' and 'what are you talking about?' or 'that doesn't even make sense'. How about helping out the guest, douche.

what time does he start talking about it?

1:25:30

1 hour 25 minutes. It links to that time but it doesn't always work.

They're dead on on this.

hold on hold on hold on
