Did Opie and Anthony ever have "chemistry"??

I've heard Opie mention this scary chemistry but..

Yes and they still do. Some of the best O&A shows this year were when Jim was out.

Yes. Back before maybe 2009 or so (or until Patrice passed, depending on who you ask) they did. Ant was the comedy and the brains, and Opie knew how to play off him and keep the show at a good pace.

Yes. It was phenomenal.

Their chemistry worked because Opie didn't feel the need to compete with Anthony. Ever since the firing Opie has felt the need to take on two roles. He tries to control the show and be funny and we all know it's pretty clear that he's not good at it. Opie and Anthony had a good back and forth with each other and talked like they knew each other forever. The biggest reason for this was that Opie didn't feel the need to impress Ant the way he does with every guest comedian that comes in there now. It really was good what they had.

Yea. Anytime Opie tries to finish Anthony's sentence.

But they both do (did) that. That's part of the magic. When one guy runs out of air, the next guy jumps in and takes over. Anyone who doubts the O & A chemistry can pound sand.

They are very good during WNEW and early XM, especially when fucking with people

Yes, they absolutely know how to play goodcop/badcop

They had real conversations. I preferred O&A without Jim, they were pretty amazing. Listen to them talk, old Ron and fez, then compare to fuckin Scott Shannon. Unreal. As a matter of fact, when Jim would start talking (earlier on) I thought he was steamrolling the boys, and wished he would stop sometimes.

I'd say they had a good understanding of timing and what each other brought to the table (Ant funny and Ope moving the show along) up until a few years back.

Inferiority complex Opie and race/guns/politics tirade Anthony did away with that, though they did play well off each other from time to time in recent years.

The best chemistry was pre-Jimmy. The dynamic changed as he became fully integrated into the show.

Net-net though, I'll trade Opie for Jimmy any day.

Anthony dropped out, so I'm sure he never took that class.

You listening since 2007 faggots all need to kill yourselves.

Yes, you'd have to listen to WBAB bits and WNEW.

The two of them are magic. They have this rhythm that was very inviting, you'd think you were sitting in a room at a table drinking a beer and having a conversation.

That's what was so interesting to me and they were fucking around in the studio and laughing and having genuine interactions with each other and the workers behind the scene. It wasn't scripted, it wasn't forced, they were real, human, and not just stupid and wacky.

I listened to them on my stupid cassette player/radio in highschool, and in my jeep when I finally got a car.
