How long before the show starts losing its audience?

I enjoyed the first few shows without Ant. Now I find myself listening to the show less and less. I assume others feel the same way based on posts(or maybe its just this subreddit).

How much of their audience do you think is actually tuning it out? I've been listening since WNEW on and off but what is the infliction point where the show takes a serious hit audience wise? Do you think it has already?

I find myself still following the bbbbbbboys news and whereabouts the same, but listening to show even less.

Will we be able to find out when the contracts are up? Clearly a substantial paycut would signal this, but the show might not continue and I don't seeing us being aware of a huge paycut. Maybe the Opster would say they lowballed them so much they couldn't continue as evidence.

TLDR: Is the show losing a substantial amount of listeners due to recent crap or is just this subreddit. Or does the awfulness of the show just mean same amount of listening just an unhappy audience?

You pretty much have to be a masochist to listen to an entire O&J show.

Of course a lot of people are tuning out, and more are tuning out each day; there are far too many other options available to stick with this abortion.

The only way to stop the bleeding is for them to hire a name/fan favorite for the 3rd mic.

And Opie will be willing to re-sign for pennies on the dollar, because he has absolutely no leverage or options, despite his claims of "milling" some over.

You will never find out SiriusXM's numbers, they don't keep track of the number of people listening to each station. The daily YouTube uploads have had a drop in views. Also, the daily Downloaders have noticed a drop as well. The guys who upload the old shows actually got a boost in numbers. People are turning away from the broadcasts and listening to archived shows

I think a lot of the sycophants will stick around; they have been brainwashed over the years that Opie is the only radio guy worth listening. The casual listeners may stay tuned out of sheer habit, but they can't ignore the quality for long.

I only listen to classic shows, or when O&J have great comedians in. You can tell their listening numbers dropped by the phone calls. I listened one day where "Snowy from Michigan" got through 3 times, and 2 other guys called in back to back.

When you cycle through 5 callers and 3 get through again within 20 mins, that should be a good idea that you have fewer listeners

Word. Didn't know about drop in youtube views and that old shows were seeing an uptick. Thanks for some evidence to shed some light. I would to see TACS #'s just out of sheer curiosity. I really wonder if Ant is making more salary(I think he was paid 1.5 million and the 3 number was based on both of their salaries combined, not including lil yimmu) than Sirius or he is referring to revenue over salary. Just really curious about the business aspect of his new venture.

I'm not sure how well this sub reflects the overall viewership. Surely some listeners are happy to keep listening to what they're putting out now. But it certainly isn't an anomaly.

But I would say that there has definitely been a pretty sharp drop in followers - immediately after the Ant firing for sure, and just over time from people who wanted to see how the show would hold up without him (and saw that it didn't do well). I'd guess that their steepest decline in followers happened immediately after the firing and then again after they ran out of steam from the great shows they lined up in the first couple of weeks (like the obvious Pete Rose/Vos/Kelly/Gervais one)

I have no concrete proof, but I'd imagine the numbers look completely terrible for them if they're going into re-signing discussions with the company soon.

If you asked this question the day before Ant's firing, the answer would have been "tomorrow".

I find myself yelling at the radio more as though Opie can hear me and will actually quit stomping on people's throats when they are trying to tell a fucking story.

All I can say is that I've met a total of two O&A fans in my life...and one hadn't listened since the WNEW days. Sometimes I try to shoehorn O&A into a discussion and I am always met with blank stares of indifference.

I assume people are listening, but not a lot. Especially after Anthony did a naughty thinf.

I bet there's a ton of overlap, people listen to both. I count even a tenth of their audience reads this reddit, maybe 20% still go to wackbag.

There's no real way to tell, because nobody is posting numbers - not Sirius, not Ant, nobody.

I just looked at Facebook. I never really looked at the likes over there - 100k for the show (much lower than I would have thought), 50k for Opie, Anthony's show page, 36k. Not sure if that says anything, as far as listenership.

Of course they lost an audience half the Opie and Anthony fan base that's hardcore about the show dropped sxm. So what do you think happened to listenership dummy?

maybe in fantasyland u fucktard.

That reply makes no sense. You're a retard.

u said they lost half their hardcore audience. That is fantasyland as in not based in reality as in you are the dummy

They still lost listeners due to cancelations it's very obvious. Maybe not half but they sure as as shit lost people due to Anthony being fired. Now go away.

.Oh really they did-thanks genius I couldn't tell that much. The ? was how many you dumbfuck. You calling me a dummy when you cant even comprehend the question being proposed.

I'd say very few are tuning out. It's just the hardcore fans who get worked up over this minutiae, and they were always a small fraction of the listenership. The vast majority of people who tune in are just looking for something to listen to in the morning. They aren't nearly as invested in the fundamental character of the show as most of the people on this subreddit are.

I'm not sure I'd call losing Anthony "minutiae."

No, I agree that was immense. I'm referring to the microscopic attention people here pay to every word uttered on the show. Things that give hardcore fans neverending douche-chills aren't even noticed by the vast majority of listeners. They don't care enough to notice them.

This is true, by the way, of every radio program in existence. The devotion of most listeners is at best casual.
