Actually Anthony did not carry Opie for 20 years. Early on in the shows history Opie did all the heavy lifting. The direction of the show was opies idea. Opies the one that knew how to deal with management and the radio side of things. Anthony even admits this during the unmasked. He early on Anthony was just happy to be on the radio and didn't know what to do. Opies the one that decided to stop playing music, Opie is the one that knew when to get fired, he's the one that fought for Anthony and Jimmy to get paid when management wanted nothing to do with either one. Opies the one that made sure Anthony got paid the same. He's the one that invited comics in. Opies done a fucking lot. There's more to a radio show than just being funny. Before Opie no one was offering Anthony shit. It's a give and take. Neither one would have been this successful without the other. I mean look at other industries. There are funny comics that never make it because they don't have someone like Opie on there side that knows radio and talent. You sir are a fucking moron that is absolutely clueless about how things work. No one was offering shit to Jimmy either before Opie. And look at how many opportunities Jimmy has had since getting on the radio. Without Opie you would never have heard of Anthony or Jimmy. They were absolute nobodies. I mean seriously before Opie how many people do you think wanted Anthony as there Co host? My guess is outside of Opie the number is zero.

Fact: Opie then brought in a comic (Jimmy, of course) because he and Ant were at one another's throat. They were no longer friends and began hating each other. Jimmy provided a buffer to curb their hatred

Fact: Jimmy brought in his comedian friends, who were already on their way to fame (Louie had directed/writer for many shows/been a big comic in New York for over a decade, Burr was making his way up the stand-up ladder through sheer talent, Patrice was still fighting his talent and never became famous), but O&A were fun radio and sold tickets around the East Coast
