You can't just read a post on this subreddit without a mention of how Opie is delusional, stupid, not funny...

And I really don't get it. You people do realise that O&A could never have been what it is without opie. And I do agree that Anthony is way funnier and wittier, I love his podcast. And now both shows (O&J, Anthony's Podcast) feel really empty.

You don't get that they were a team. Opie was there to balance things out.

Stop the Opster hate.

But seriously, check in more often then every 3 days to understand the Opie hate. People post examples daily of why they dislike him. They quote his Twitter and post links from the show to provide proof. I strongly recommend reviewing the top posts from this month or just the "hot" page once a day

Most of the hate is confirmed through evidence (OpieRadio Twitter feed & clips from the broadcasts). The rest of it is done for laughs.

Like you said, most of the submissions are answers to your post "why the opie hate?"

You don't have to pay attention to it, nor do you need to change your opinion of the show. But your question has been answered daily, with examples, for the last 2 months

After browsing the subreddit for a bit and thinking about it some more, you people are starting to convince me. I don't know. It wasn't always like this. If you listen to anything from the WNEW days you'll see Opie contributing a lot more than Anthony. I can't see what changed (apart from anthony getting fired). I just miss the old days and you people are ruining the memories for me.

EDIT: I wasn't actally listening in the WNEW days. (Started listening like 3-4 years ago I guess)

PERFECT EXAMPLE:

Listening to the show (8-19) where a caller calls in with the idiotic rambling "the Mike Brown guy was wearing sneakers.. but in the picture after he was shot, he was wearing flip flops"... Jimmy corects the dude, the guy hangs up, jimmy immediately gives a funny whacky out "Peace" - that makes fun of Opie's douchey 'peace' line from earlier with the black caller .. and it's a genuinely funny moment, then follows up with "word em up doc" .. and Soder is giving a great and honest laugh.. i'm laughing out loud and then Soder fills in with "Slamma Jamma".. and Opie fucking immediately jumps back in with "I dont know, i think it's proven he was wearing the same shoes".

It was a funny moment at Opies expense, but he was done with it and wanted to move on. There was time there for more laughs, but Opie cant have that. Opie cant stand that he's not important/needed/funny.. he drags every minor moment he has out for eternity and brings up every one of this "things" as often as possible to somehow fit in.. but he's usually lying or just being a exaggerating douche -- see "i slept with 2 black girls" from the other day.

Look, I like listening to old O&A bits. And now every time I listen to something again it makes the bit less enjoyable for me because i keep thinking 'Wait, I remember Opie being funnier in this one. Why isn't he saying anything? Are all those reddit cunts right?" when none of it matters at all. O&A is basically dead. Get off the carcass you vultures.
