Tension between Opie and Ant?
4 2014-08-20 by blindkeller
On Monday's show, Ant said he thought telling someone "I'll put it on my Twitter" was gay. And yesterday, Opie, in his aids voice, said "is it white privelege?" on his show. That's a radio war I'd like to see.

Opie blames Ant for him not being funny.

Opie is Anthony's fez. Needs him but despises him for his talent.

Greggory needs Antonio. It's clear to him now, and he resents Antonio for it.

Opie thinks all people on twitter are assholes (the aid voice people) because all he ever gets is hate. He lives in a completely different reality than Jim and Ant, who have/had to pretend over the years they understand the problem. They laugh at the AIDS voice but really have no idea the extent to which Opie is living in a world of hate which is almost exclusively directed at him.
It's like when a hot girl says that everyone in x city is nice and friendly, when in reality everyone in x city is just nice and friendly to that girl because they want to fuck her. I mean, it's like that but the opposite effect with Opie.

Also because pretty much everyone on twitter is a cunt.

Um Anthony and Jim bitch about Twitter as much if not more than Opie. Shut up you delusional cunt.

They're never gonna be together again, except for some novelty reunion shows down the line.

I agree.

The gloves will come off if Opie signs a new contract with sirius
4 blindkeller 2014-08-20
I'm not sure why you got down voted but I think (read hope) you're right. At least on one point. Opie will re-sign even if it's for a paycut.

He has no other choice,he apparently has an expensive wife and has to pay for the trump tower apartmrnt.
Perhaps he should of have had a parachute plan too.

"What happppund" to the "FU money"?
5 [deleted] 2014-08-20
I'm sure he is doing alright. He made at least 1 million dollars for a decade+5 mill a year for 3 years for their banner contract. Pretty sure he is good to go for his life.

Why would Ant have a problem with that?
0 [deleted] 2014-08-20
From both sides since it would signal that they are officially done with as partners. The word around the Opie camp is that he is being a super prick lately because Anthony is getting guests and his sub total has exceeded expectations
2 benjamin72 2014-08-20
Yeah, and you know the "word around the opie camp"...

I'm enjoying this "The Fall of the Opster."

I think Opie resents Anthony for getting the show up and running and being succesful at it. I think he also resents the fans for "abandoning" him. If he wants to survive and be succesful, he needs to forget the past, stop playing the victim and step up and modify the show. Right now it's no longer an edgy comedy show, it's slightly a step up from a morning zoo talk show that uses swear words.
I doubt Anthony gives him or any of it a second thought.

I want nothing more than for the shows to Jocktober one another.

Is this your new bit "make something out of nothing" guy?

Remember after Ant was fired and Opie was talking about Ant's studio set up and how professional everything was, but he wouldn't drive out to Long Island everyday to do a show. Everything would have to be moved to the city. Ant didn't have any problem driving to Manhattan everyday for the show, why is Opie so special? it's like a 20 minute drive. Guess 20 mins is too long for the wife to wait for him..
11 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-08-20
It's definitely not a 20 minute drive in the afternoon.
9 omninode 2014-08-20
Opie kept saying they need to do the show in NYC so they can get A-list guests. The man is delusional; they don't get A-list guests at Sirius/XM except for the occasional person who drops in for a few minutes after being on Stern.
If they did a new show together it would be friends of the show and comedians dropping in, just like any other podcast.
8 blindkeller 2014-08-20
Yes, and Opie kept saying "I think Ant really wants to go on his own right now". Trying to convince himself more than the listeners.
7 KnickedUp 2014-08-20
I make a similar drive 3 days a week. 20 mins? Add an hour onto that...or longer.
4 Jaaahhh 2014-08-20
I for one am happy that Opie won't be on Ant's show any time soon.
3 [deleted] 2014-08-20
Shut up shit head. That drive in the afternoon is significantly different in the afternoon than when Anthony made it. Also Jimmy said he wouldn't drive out to Anthonys to do a daily show either. It makes no sense for the type of show the 3 of them do. They need to be in the city. It won't happen though so whatever.

Holy crap! I'm actually gonna defend Opie! What The Douchester meant was that "talent" would be reluctant to journey to Roslyn Heights for the show. I agree...most guests are coddled scumbags; on an excellent day, it's an hour round-trip to Midtown Manhattan.
1 Pale_Pen15 2014-08-20
I wouldn't mind since 90% of the guests are boring shit I skip over. In the UFC are you? How interesting.
0 CookieHaid 2014-08-20
Incidentally: one of my favorite 1970's jokes: What do Jimmy Carter and the Long Island Railroad have in common? They both pull out of Roslyn at 5:20 AM.

I think you're right about the wife, but not why - I think it has to do more with the wife putting her foot down that Opie will NOT be going out to Long Island where there is drinking (and most likely some pot being smoked) with young girls in bikinis in the pool. Oh, hell no.
Opie did a 180 on Ant's house, he NEVER had a problem with Ant's lifestyle. Now, all of a sudden, it's an issue.
Opie has a beach house, and is driving past Ant's house on a regular basis, and doesn't stop by to say "Hi", and maybe "Do we have a plan? We need to talk." But no. Gee, who's in the car with him...
Right now I'm listening to Opie and Jimmy talk about where to do the ice water challenge. Who do you guys know who has a pool, who would love to have you guys com out this weekend, hand out, maybe use the ManGrate for some BBQ, and film them?
7 BRUTAL_ANAL_RAPE8888 2014-08-20
i think so. its no secret that they have had major differences and fights in the past. now with no obligation to deal with eachother i kinda feel like they will be more open and prone to take jabs. id love to see them write books about their history in radio. ant has to resent opie for being so stupid and untalented and opie is just a dumbfuck, who knows what he would write about ant.
7 TheActor_GreggHughes 2014-08-20
Opie's book should be called "Lies".
7 anonimescu 2014-08-20
Opie is now a company man and will do anything he can to accommodate and service The Company. He changed his tune a lot in less than a month from constant on-air bitch fest to:"I like this". I hope Jim realized that and finds a way to break free and convince Ant to start a morning show in NYC. Ant and Jim show in the mornings+ TACS in the afternoon is a great combo for 6-7$/month.
Opie can team up with Ron for all I care,it will actually be a pretty good combo since the Opester and the O&A staff won't tolerate the likes of Gurian and on-air Shelby.
8 dochattan 2014-08-20
Opie has always been a company man, don't let his contract year bitching fool you.
6 Spokker 2014-08-20
Contract bitching is an act for both Opie and Anthony. Anthony said he would have signed another deal. He didn't give a shit.
6 BottleOfAon 2014-08-20
Wow they're really pulling no punches. Brutal.
5 Abarf 2014-08-20
If we want to play therodical "war" Anthony is the United States. Opie is Haiti.
Anthony has all the tools and freedom to do whatever he wants.
Opie on the other hand is in "Do not pass go, do not collect $200" mode.
Anthony is already taking charge with taking all the old favorite bits to the new show which Opie can no longer effectively pull off.
Opie must be getting pissed as he watches the show. And there is nothing he can do about it becuase its a lose-lose situation.
Opie would be foolish to try him..
3 RandyCool 2014-08-20
Opie doing the Twitter voice saying "is it white privilege?" Is more an attack on ants critics rather than ant. Isn't that obvious?
2 AntsCamera 2014-08-20
Opie is angry that there is no room for him on TACS.
Ant would have to take a paycut after doing all the work.
Opie also knows Ant is not coming back to him on another platform, as he is doing very well so far, on his own with no Sirius XM enabled guest bookings or the benefits of a large entertainment platform,
Truth is Ant does not need guests, he can hold a show together alone, Opie on the other hand...
-3 [deleted] 2014-08-20
After Anthony went on a tirade after getting beat up by a woman he's the last person who should be calling others gay for what they post. There's no animosity between the two or no reason to think there would be right now. Quit speculating.
