I like to think Ant was trying to get Jimmy to join him in October. Young girls getting drunk in bikinis, nice studio to broadcast from, pay increase, and having chemistry with the host...It has to be pretty tempting. Realistically, Ant must have brought it up.

At one point I wished the 3 of them would podcast together...but Opie has clearly shown he should not be in front of a microphone anymore.

I could see him on Ant's show in October, but only if it becomes very successful in the next few months. Recognized as a hot commodity and getting write-ups in magazines, etc... He's not going to go work in a black hole of mainstream relevancy.

Jimmy has told Opie and Ant many times, that the podcasts he promotes on have nicer studios and would hint they should do their own. The Anthony Cumia show featuring Jim Norton would get at least 75% of O&A fans to subscribe. Fans are the only ones listening anyways. Nobody else is stumbling across the channel requiring a premium fee on top of your basic subscription

You make a good case. I didn't know about Jim hinting in the past that they should go to podcast format. That makes it seem a lot more likely to happen to me. I definitely saw the argument that the Opie and Anthony Show itself was irrelevant coming, and that's a pretty valid point too.

If you listen to the first O&J show talking about Ant's firing, even Opie is fishing for Jim's intentions. "I mean I don't even know if Jimmy would want to re-sign with me in October....(let's the statement hang till Jim responds)" Jim avoids answering, "...Oh, yeah, I don't know man. I think, Opie is a big factor on whether or not Jim podcasts with Ant. Jimmy wouldn't want to take sides and betray someone. But even he knows that him and Opie have a terrible chemistry and the fans don't like the show. It can really go either way and I'm talking out of my ass

Guarantee the numbers are very high for that show still, and no matter what opie and jim did after ant left you guys would have complained guaranteed. Im not saying there havent been some dud's but ants show has had far less laughs and far more dud's since it started and no one complains about his show on here. That just goes to show that this reddit in particular has a very vocal 100 or so ant supporters that are so pathetically obsessed with opie , yet at the same time still listen to O and J so they can complain. The o and a show had tons of duds before ant left anyways so they are hitting probably a slightly lower average now but its still an entertaining show.

As for twitter they have always had a disgusting following and hes acknowledged the haters, but you know what a majority that listen arent on twitter following opie or live tweeting during the show, they hop in their cars turn on their radio listen for an hour or 2 and rinse and repeat, to those people i think its still a fairly entertaining show, they still book decent guests and there is certainly more laughs than ants show.
