I'm calling it now.

The Opie hatred is flowing strong to the degree that I foresee the wave of people siding against the Opie hate just because they're annoyed at how prevalent it has become.
DON'T DO IT!
I understand that the constant hate can be annoying, but that doesn't change how horrible Opie is/has been/will be. Here's some fun reminders for everyone (yes, they're older, but these are some I've just heard off Youtube):
George Carlin Interview 2007 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSdj2S6dkI8I Opie cuts off Carlin several times throughout, talks too much, and repeatedly mentions his love of George's bit about "stuff"...yeeeuck Carlin of course still delivers the gold.
Fight with Jimmy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a32nLehfcFs Whether or not you agree with Jim, Opie is unbearable here, great stuff.
Howard Stern rant w/Patrice - 2005 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8AonXQGHh4 Loud, whiny, steamrolling Opie. Plowing over Ant and Patrice, ignoring Anthony's attempts at making the show funny.
Gregg's Midlife Viral Spiral https://soundcloud.com/jizzmop/english-chippah An instant classic, but in a bad way sort of...we all know it, never forget.
These definitely aren't the best, but I tried to think of a few examples quickly that would still be fun to listen to. Post some more if you like! Whatever great douchey Opie example you like.

Eurrghhh I never saw that. Jesus Christ that was infuriating to watch. Fucking Opie sucks.

Opie is such a douche.
21 LithiumAM 2014-08-18
Opie Interrupts Bill Burr
One of the most infuriating examples I've ever heard. Actually SCREAMING "WAIT" that loud. How about you wait till the talented one is done speaking? Have an actual conversation? That's just too much for the ship steerer, I guess. Any thought that crosses his dumb, untalented mind just HAS to be spoken the second he has it no matter what anyone else in the room is saying or doing.
Opie Totally Tramples Over Jim Norton And Is Called Out
Another example. Once again, he has a thought so no one else in the room matters.
Opie trampling Jim and Travis' Discussion With Singing - 7/31/2014 show
Lasanga Hat pointed this one out.
Opie Won't Let Anthony Talk
This one is ridiculous. Anthony trying to actually explain his take on the situation and his actions and Opie wont shut up. He interrupts Anthony like 3-4 times just to continue on with his uninteresting, unfunny comment about what he supposedly did.
17 Flamgirlant 2014-08-18
Almost immediately after he interrupts Bill he says
So why is he shouting over Bill to tell his shitty version? He has got to be one of the least self-aware people ever. Have any of his interruptions ever led to something more interesting than what he interrupted?
7 scrambler12345 2014-08-18
listen to how quick he starts bumbling and stumbling. how can you be that fucking choppy using basic english when your job is to speak publicly?
3 CookieHaid 2014-08-18

1 CookieHaid 2014-08-18
Thanks, bruh!
6 packitchofsositch 2014-08-18
I clicked on that Travis one a few days ago. He's at his most bitchslappable there. You know what's coming when he pronounces the word "heavy" like a petulant 4 year old. "hea vaAAY - YYUHH".
It's fun to imagine Florentine is reacting to these clips.
11 LithiumAM 2014-08-18
...and whats even worse that he totally barrels over Travis with that bullshit, and immediately steers the "conversation" into what he wants to talk about, as always...and of course its about "HATERS". They're sick of him forcing Lady Di into the shows so they're "haters".
Here's how you know Opie isn't good at what he does. If he wasn't established and came in for a week to "steer the ship", do you think they would EVER have him back? No. They'd hate him. Jim or Anthony could go on any show and contribute entertainment value to the show.
Or imagine if they were doing Jocktober and listened to a show where one of the hosts actually interrupted a reasonably interesting thought/conversation to sing some shitty song from 1998. They'd destroy him, and they should because he's awful. You know Jim and Travis had to be annoyed there...
5 packitchofsositch 2014-08-18
That's why he never does any other shows on any other medium. You could probably count the number things he's done on two hands. And if you discount stuff like Brother Wease and other kissasses from traditional radio, one hand. He hides from Red Eye and podcasts, and I'm willing to bet the show as a whole would have a few more late-night appearances if it wasn't for his hiding.
He's shit and he knows it.
6 Antoby 2014-08-18
But he smoked with Joe Rogan. He had a puff! Lets talk about that for 2 hours!
3 [deleted] 2014-08-18

1 BeerCanThick 2014-08-18
The singing one is insane. He interrupted Jim repeatedly by talking about Korn and singing Freak on a Leash. "Could we play that into break?" Could you shut the fuck up and let Jim finish his story? CHRIST.
18 present_day_memories 2014-08-18
The one thing I'll never forgive him for is when Ant tried to bring The Room to the show and Opie ruined it by screaming out repeatedly to some random black woman who was blowing Floyd Mayweather for cash or something. I forget what her exact position was.
13 BoardroomBimmy 2014-08-18
Oh my gid, did that infuriate me. Who gives a fuck about some random nobody? God forbid the show get too funny! He's the hole.
6 [deleted] 2014-08-18
I still love how he tried to go along with "The Room" bits, jokes, and references to the movie when it was obvious he hadn't seen it. I think they asked him if he saw it, or he volunteered "I think I watched like half of it." How the fuck do you watch "half" of The Room? What a goddamn liar. I was like "Why can't he just admit he didn't see it, what's the big deal?"
0 makehersquirtz 2014-08-18
So you want Opie to take an interview seriously where the interview subject is a movie that may or may not have been made to be the worst film ever
You call yourself a fan of the show?
2 present_day_memories 2014-08-18
I'm not talking about the interview, I'm talking about when Ant brought it up weeks before. You must have heard it, being a fan of the show.
15 BRUTAL_ANAL_RAPE8888 2014-08-18
Yea, there really are countless examples. Like when he derailed the game of thrones discussion to talk about his retard kids. Or when he inturrupted Ant wanting to talk about his new 100k jag to talk about his high school for the 10th time. Any thought nomatter how small or dumb HAS to be shot out immediately which would be ok if they were intersting but they are mind numblingly stupid. Screaming about how he doesnt like having a doorman so how about you dont live in a doorman building you fucking idiot. Or stoppig a conversation to rant about how expensive car garages are and how he wishes he didnt have to pay (when 99% of nyc parks on the street). Or "car dealers pick up wrecks and put new bodies on them and sell them as new". Im starting to think he is being this terrible on purpose because noone can be this bad on the radio
14 ClassyDesk 2014-08-18
Anthony can get really annoying with his opinions sometimes, but at least he's interesting to listen to.
I get the feeling that Opie just takes the more controversial opinion for the sake of being controversial and edgy, whereas Anthony actually has opinions that are controversial.
13 ClassyDesk 2014-08-18
Haha I feel you, man. I have seen this exact conversation:
"Opie isn't funny, he sucks."
"Guys, don't hate Opie. He keeps the show together."
So many fucking times now.
7 Flamgirlant 2014-08-18
It's the only defense anyone has for him because it doesn't actually require anyone to come up with something specific that he does for the show.
4 alexreleases 2014-08-18
I know that's kinda what I'm talking about.
3 ClassyDesk 2014-08-18
Yeah. I understand that the show probably does need someone to keep the show together, so I wouldn't want it to be just Anthony & Jim. But in a dream world I would want to replace Opie with a) someone funnier ; or b) someone less obnoxious. I know that can't happen since the show is his baby at this point and he's too close to Anthony/Jim, but that'd be my hope for one day.

11 Flamgirlant 2014-08-18
Opie sounds like a whiny little boy whenever he talks about Stern. It's pathetic. There might be some valid criticisms to make, but the amount of airtime that's been wasted by his butthurt rants that no one wants to hear is absurd. I'm not a Stern fan (or hater for that matter) but I'd rather listen to him queef into a microphone than listen to Opie cry about the same old shit one more time.
11 [deleted] 2014-08-18
There was a time or two Stern tooled off on the boys, and would openly say that Anthony was funny and had all the talent, and that Opie was just basically a board op. I imagine that upset the Opester.
1 thelastassblaster 2014-08-18
i would love to hear this. any clips?
2 [deleted] 2014-08-18
I think Opie actually played it on the show, like "Howard was talking about us" or something like that. Let me see if I can find it.
5 Bomyknocka 2014-08-18
Change that to any time he talks about radio. His desperate self glorification mixed with endless whining is almost unlistenable
11 UncPa57yrzyng 2014-08-18
I was an Opie fan, but ever since Anthony and Jimmy were about to go on a Game of Thrones break and Opie interrupted it with a "I don't watch TV cuz my kids blah blah" I've loathed him.
Also he sabotaged the Oberyn Martell interview by having Lady Di in studio, I bet if it was some documentary douche or 90s rocker Lady Di would've been locked in an office somewhere but since it was someone he didn't know he sabotaged it. Damn you sir.
1 Guillaume_Langis 2014-08-18
I almost liked that interview, the actor deserved a full interview but Lady Di ruining ait was pretty funny.
10 Lasagna_Hat 2014-08-18
Carlin interview drove me crazy. One of the most brilliant comedic minds to ever exist and you put him on terrestrial.
Opie tramples the conversation looking like a moron and Jimmy recites castrated versions of Carlin bits to the man himself. "I liked your bit about the anorexic woman, 'If the rich C doesn't want to eat...then F her'..." ugh
-14 [deleted] 2014-08-18
Maybe that's when they could book Carlin and let's not act like Opie and Anthony didn't shit all over Carlin previous to his appearance then all the sudden they talk about what a legend he is. Both Opie and Anthony came off as extremely douchey that time. Especially Anthony who spent more time shitting on Carlin than anyone else.
9 shameofyou 2014-08-18
Opie's been a busy guy, he had to drop some hammers off for Ant who turned out to not want them, then he had to go pickup brother 'against bullying' Brett for dinner, and finally he had to meet with his philly crew connection all while being followed by a shaq balloon.
2 [deleted] 2014-08-18
"Tell im I'll bring him the fuckin Shaq balloon; then we'll see how 'paranoid' I am..."
2 [deleted] 2014-08-18

Now that you've sussed this out, WTF are you still doing here?!?
And no, all the Opie criticism is legitimate; it's backed up with specific instances of annoying behavior, and sometimes youtube clips to go along with it.
It's very telling that nobody can actually defend Opie's behavior (and even you copped to being bothered by Opie a "few times a show"!), but can only attack the criticism.
Opie sucks, on several levels. You know it, I know it; everybody knows it. He's an unintelligent, boring, obnoxious, immature comedy-killer. And now, he's added "desperate and flailing" to the mix.

Thank you for reading and commenting! I forgot to put this one too: Opie Gets Mad Over Jim's Characters - 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ Just a classic case of over-sensitive Op, trying to diminish Jim's contributions to the show.
14 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2014-08-18

-1 stinkypee 2014-08-18
lol wow, sick reference. You're really going against the grain with this awesome post dude.
-18 [deleted] 2014-08-18
Wow you mean through 20 hours of radio a week for the last 10 years of satellite radio alone, and another 10 on free fm and you found 5 examples of Opie cutting people off, but you admit there not even good examples? You suck at life. Let me listen to you talk for 20 hours a week for 20 years. I'm sure your voice alone after that much time would make me want to kill myself.
7 alexreleases 2014-08-18
No. From a couple minutes of sitting and thinking of a few instances that I remembered from Youtube clips I'd recently heard, this is what I had. They aren't the best because there's millions, I chose to put a few that I could think of quickly, as I explained in the post. See there's this thing called the internet, where you can hear clips of old radio shows GASP!!! and I've recently heard things from long ago OMG!!! You make me sad, where's your logic? You're retarded.
-7 hajonious 2014-08-18
This post kind of reminds me of opie you got butthurt real quick
-12 [deleted] 2014-08-18
My logic is you found 4 clips out of 10s and thousands of hours of Opie talking. So what? Anthony is equally as annoying. The two times he made me sit through interviews with George Zimmermans brother or the countless times he droned on about fbi statistics and race far outweighs Opie talking over people which isn't that crazy of a thing. Since you have the Internet dummy and can listen to old radio shows maybe you want to listen to some more radio. Pick any fucking show out there from Howard Stern to rush Limbaugh to npr the radio host always talks more and in most cases has the ability to turn other mics off whenever they want. You don't have a fucking point. If it's so bad then stop listening but in most cases I expect the host to talk more and even at times cut people off. It's why they're the God damn host to begin with. This isn't interviews with Ron beinnington it's the fucking Opie and Anthony show (or was) .
11 alexreleases 2014-08-18
I have stopped listening, he's awful. Anthony isn't anywhere near as annoying, he's a brilliant comedic mind and a great broadcaster who's very diverse in what he can talk about, despite what people have claimed. You're delusional to even say that. I do have a point, it's not a serious point, just for my entertainment (which is what this all is, keep in mind) it's that this guy is an annoying, clueless, unfunny, crappy radio host. I use to listen because I like Ant and Jimmy, now it's funny to come here to hear clips of his awfulness. By your participation here, it really seems to me like you're struggling with some issues about the show now as well...
