If something someone says is offensive, then people will stop listening. The free market is not a few hundred or thousand people on Twitter when your potential audience is millions.
This is stupid logic. Companies are allowed to preemptively act. That's the free-market. Stopping companies from firing people is not the free-market at work.
Whether or not the companies are stupid for doing so is another issue altogether.
