Dude, these fans of "Louie" on FX are unbelievably pretentious and shitty. A person actually said he didn't care for the peanut allergy joke because it wasn't factually accurate and holds Louis CK to a higher standard of smart comedy.
A lot of of the dull shows have been on the boys for treating him like some mexican prophet though. That said, he has become slightly douchy over time.
he's my favourite comedian of all time, i could listen to him for days talking (and have before) about anything, only for him to make it hilariously funny and interesting. aside from the show from January when he talks about Gravity, virtually every show he's done on O&A recently has been shit. they hero worship him, and he just sounds tired and like he doesn't want to be there at all. every anecdote sounds so professional, like he's talking to some execs or something, and he never actually seems to be speaking his mind, only ever about himself. they just talk about Louie for hours and it isn't interesting.
He explicitly told them he is sick of being treated like that, too! But no, it's just "Wow that episode was amazing!" or "Your writing and camera work and blah blah blah." I don't know what he's supposed to do when 3 shitheads keep asking him horrible questions.
It really, really sucks. I even have a Louis tattoo (honestly not sure if i should admit that), and it's painful listening to him. I have most of his O&A youtube rips on my ipod, in literally 3 episodes he tells the same anecdote about the theme song and how he shoots stuff. I love it when him and Jimmy go back and forth, or when Louis actually used to call Ant out a little bit. I'll just have to keep worshipping the boat story.
Yeah I agree completely. Louie might not feel like he can still say shit like "You know where the word nigger came from?", and that's too bad, but he's had plenty of hilarious dialogue on the show as awesome, vulgar Louie that isn't very offensive at all (shitting on Paul O's shit movie comes to mind). I feel like the blame is way more on the boys treating him like an A-lister they don't know. Any time he's done answering one of their boring, professional questions it's immediately followed up with something like "So what was it LIKE to actually be hosting SNL?"
I actually think Louie is a very captivating speaker, so his answers to those questions I still find somewhat interesting, but it's the same shit any other radio show would (and does) ask him.
his tv show is pretty good. it is like a slice of life anime, but instead of featuring japanese schoolgirls, it has a mexican jew comedian single father living in NYC. also its not animated
His current show, and really most of his work, is so much better than everything Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy have ever done combined that it isn't even funny.
Yeah I've decided this is probably the funniest bit in show history. I've listened to it 10 times and it's still goddamn funny. The best part was Louis saying "here's what we're gonna do..."

Those are the fans he wants.
He could make a show that excludes them. Until about three years ago, most of his work did. It was for us. Now it's us he wants to exclude.
These are his people, the ones whose worried, puritanical faces he's happy to see from a stage.
Shit, he's their king. The king of white people! The best possible white man—that's his shtick now.
And it's shitty, so of course its fans are.
