Can i download?

We will be making a statement in the coming days regarding this. We want access to be as easy at it can be for our subscribers, but we are trying to do so without risking our content being published by other sites

What the fuck, I just subscribed and realized you can't download.

How the fuck can I get through 2 hours of content a day with a browser tab open? I need to use itunes remember position feature with O&A otherwise it's nearly unusable. Since I work and have to pause and come back to it later constantly. Often times the next day.

Seems they are having second thoughts about that.

The show has been posted to at least another site already... all of the episodes so far. They should make things as easy as possible to subscribers and not worry so much about pirates, because it will always be pirated no matter what. The last thing they want is angry or unsatisfied subscribers.

not allowing downloads is a bit silly. it means the people that steal the show will actually have a more convenient experience than people who pay for it.

There are a ton of apps and browser plug-ins available that give you the ability to download videos and whatnot from the Web. I really don't know why Ant and Keith think they're keeping complete control of TACS content. They're using a velvet rope approach AT BEST.

I have never used the sirius app. I am guessibg though it is going to be some type of player similar to audio books. The files will be encrypted and you will need a certain player and your account to decrypt. It is a pain in the ass. This is pretty much the only reason I dont sign up to his show.

How important is the paypal?

PayPal has been around a long time (14 years) and has a pretty good track record for security whereas the show's 3rd party CC payment service Stripe.com has less of a track record (4 years). One twitterer complained that they don't have Verisign or CAPTCHA security and felt that it was risky.

I think the show does not want PayPal because it would be difficult if not impossible to do automatic recurring payments through it, and I'm sure that's very important to their business model because users could just stop resubscribing if they got bored with the show.

PayPal has screwed a couple people over in the past, and I doubt he wants another middleman to take a %.

Well, stripe.com takes 2.9% + 30 cents for each transaction.

If he wants to protect his content, just have one of those bitches he has hanging around draft takedown notices. You can't prevent anyone from ripping it off your site. You can extract the video and audio with plugins and it only annoys paying customers.

It's incredible how assbackwards people get about DRM. This should be the obvious solution but it's clearly not registering for them.

If I can't download audio, which is why I sub'd in the first place, then I'll be forced to cancel.

The way they implement it will be through creating an app for iOS and android. I highly doubt you will ever be able to download an mp3 or mp4 file and just play it through your player of choice.

That's better than nothing but I have a Windows phone.

just upgraded to 6 month sub. they seem to be putting out quite the effort after just the 1st week.

I understand he wants to protect the show from being pirated, but in the meantime, how about taking the risk while you develop an app to keep your subscribers happy?

If people start sharing it, then consider it a free preview for future subscribers. This is a new show, and not a good time to piss off people that actually pay for it.

In the end, it'll still be pirated by some cheapskates anyways, and others will just move on to something else.
