How did everyone like the first week of the Anthony Cumia Show?

I noticed today's episode was particularly good, they seem to be getting the technical issues taken care of. If this is any indication of what's to come, the show is well worth the money. Hopefully Gavin and Sean Bergin will return, as they are great second mics.

Fawkin homerun, Cumia.

It's getting better and better with each episode. I'm looking forward to watching/listening to Ant comment on the weird videos he finds, like the Nambla documentary or Joe Piscopo singing.

I now have 3 choices of what to listen to in the evening- Ant's show, Sirus XM Talk, and Ron + Zero Fez.

So far its been Ant.

above and beyond what I expected.

Couldn't have been happier, my only regret is not signing up for the year. 6 month subscription here, i'm definitely re-upping at the end of the contract.

I'm so glad I bought a year and saved a little dough, because it looks like I'm all in for the long term. And for all the cheapskates who would criticize me for paying 60 bucks for something before I knew what it was I say to them that I have bought video games for the same price, played them for 45 minutes, and set them on my shelf and forgotten about them. So I've already got my money's worth as far as some of my entertainment purchases.

someone in a previous thread said a year's subscriptions amounts to approximately 0.22 cents an hour of Anthony Cumia entertainment. Same here, $60 over a year is cutting back on some things here and there once in a while.

I would prefer Opie, Anthony & Jimmy, but that's life. Live and let live is what I always say.

You make that up?

This is some Regular Joe stuff right here.

Don't forget your buttered roll, dickface.

If he keeps this up, I'm signing up for a year.

I thought it was probably the finest block of broadcasting I've enjoyed. Hope Jim makes some cameos, but Opie, I can relate to Opie, having been recently diagnosed with schizophrenia word jumble persecution complex syndrome in this very internet website. Oh wait.

Don't forget meglomania and sodoku obsession.

The first hour-ish was rough on Monday's show, but that was to be expected. Once Chip called in, the show has been gold for the rest of the week.

What's that?

Very good...gonna go with six months after this months ends

most likely for me as well..

Huge thumbs up.

You guys think Opie is allowed to call in, or if he even wants to, or if Ant wants him too. I would like to see an Opie call, they deserve each other. Is sirius dickblocking such a thing?

Their relationship is wierd. I have a hunch they do not like each other.

I could be wrong, obviously, but I'd assume the same reason it's frowned upon for them to openly discuss the details of the firing is the same thing preventing Opie from calling in. With Chip it's different. Jimmy can just claim it was a fan doing a really good impression.

I am just wondering, Sirius let O and J address it and even plug him.

With most of radio, upon firing your existence is erased. I do not see why Sirius would not let O and J at least call into Ants show. Jim admitted on air he called in, so Opie?

Have they mentioned it? I listened to part of the first day and they mentioned Ant was gone but didn't really go into fine detail why. They may have gone more into it as the days went on. I just recall Jim, and Op mentioning something about contracts as to why they weren't commenting prior on Twitter.

I think you missed the whole fucking show, dude.

With that logic why can't "someone" do a really good Opie impression?

A fair point, but fans do Chip impressions all the time. Can't remember anybody calling in with a fantastic Gregory.

Why the fuck would you want Opie to call in. Do you NOT know pretty much exactly how the conversation is gonna go? I could write the script for you if you want, and I bet you a million bucks it would be 90% accurate.

I like Opie though, even if I do kill him here.

Maybe it is just my own pipe dream of wanting the show back as it was....Meh Yer kinda right.

It'll be about a 5 minute call, and will end with "well, keep in touch, good luck."

LOL, or ant can push a button and say...

"Hello, who is this?"

Hi it's lady Di, Bill is still dead, and its a mystery on how I pay my bills.

Opie will be all in, you and I both know he cannot resist a lady Di call. ;P

It was pretty damn good. Well worth subscribing.

I understand why he was talking about the race stuff for his first week, but I just hope he keeps it to a minimum in the future. It's just a boring issue for any show, and he isn't as knowledgeable as he thinks he is.

I want next week to be Howard Stern bashing week. It's time we heard everything.

I subscribed for the Dice show, and I have to say, that show, the one with the reporter, and yesterday's shows were really good. Better than I thought. I have no idea who the guy was on after Jay Mohr, but I really enjoyed the conversation, and them sitting at the bar.

Hate to say it, I'm losing interest in the Sirius show, fast.

I think Ant has been hitting it out of the park, and Opie And Jimmy have been doing strong work too. It's like being a child of divorce having two Christmases...

I've enjoyed the 4 shows in total. I give Anthony a ton of credit for taking the criticism and suggestions then implementing changes. Mics sound better, camera angles are better, conversation is more casual, no mugging or staring at the monitor.

At least he doesn't say, "Fuck you. I've been doing this since I was 18. I know good radio." We all know how that has worked out.

Exceeded my expectations.

As far the technical issues, I think that he is doing better since the first show. Next week should be much better.

Content wise is another story. I know that Anthony is a right wing guy and I accept that. If his show is going to be funny Anthony and his right wing buddies starting their bullshit, I'm going to have to check out.

I paid for a month and because I loved the show so much in the past I will give him a fair shot. So far though it's not so good. I had to turn off the last two episodes half way through.

So far I've enjoyed every episode except the Dice one. I'm not a fan of Dice so I wasn't expecting to love the episode with him. I thought his sons contributed nothing.

Sean Bergin was surprisingly good. He was very intense and energetic. Didnt know much about this guy other than the fact he got fired recently. So it was interesting to listen to somebody new to me.

That one was unintentionally cringe inducing and brutal to sit through, and it wasn't because of Dice or his kids...

Yes, it was. Dice is a fucking bore and so are his kids. Goddamn, get over yourself and what you USED to be!

Loved it. The first episode was basically a LFTC show and I expected that as the bare minimum where I would probably not cancel, but still be a little disappointed. The Dice episode was better, but not amazing. Lots of Dice impressions and weird moments. The past two episodes have been very good. If most episodes are as good as these past two then I will be extremely satisfied with my subscription.

The show has gotten better every episode. I will be totally happy if he has local guys who are entertaining like Sean and Gavin on regularly, with the occasional big name (by big name I mean guys like Rogan and Mohr). Like someone else said I really hope he has episodes where he breaks down TV and movies like the Joe Piscopo thing and Yakov's dinner adventure. I'm not too sure about the legality of some of those things though.

I've enjoyed it thus far. I'd like to see a more liberal-leaning guest so the interviews feel less like two guys just agreeing with each other for two hours - but the interviews have been interesting to listen to in spite of that.

There's a few technical issues and quirks to work out, but I figure he'll get there before long. I at least don't feel like I've wasted my cash subscribing.

The liberals in this sub are relentless. Can't you let there be one show without requesting your bullshit be inserted into it?

Haha, I'm hardly liberal.

I just want to see how Ant would respond to them up close.

Love the new format, it's evolving as we watch. It will end up great, and only get better. Good work Maaannnnnnn!

Exceeded my expectations. If this goes on I hope next year Jim joins him,not necessarily at his home(as users pointed out, there are many good venues to rent in NY,or even better a friendly comedy club that's empty in the mornings). Opie brings stuff to the show, but he ain't worth half any more. Ron Bennington or Colin Quinn are worth half.

Darryl Strawberry and the commercial for Godsmack made me subscribe that day. Really enjoying it so far, even though a video show at 4pm isn't practical. I'd prefer a mid-day audio show. Also, I wouldn't mind if he stopped taking calls from long-winded rambling random guys, but in general, it's an entertaining show.

Pretty damn good. He's settling in nicely, he's listening to the fans advice. All he needs is someone to play off of (hopefully someone who doesn't have the exact same views as him) and he'll be golden.

Kind of as I expected it to be: Too much talk about race and politics, and really not that much fun. The interview with Gavin was the best thing so far, although that was a bit of a let-down too. Two white guys talking about race will never lead to anything profound or intelligent, especially when they align politically. Some parts were downright cringeworthy. I skipped the interview with the reporter for this very reason. He should have asked more questions about Vice, how he started that up and why he left, what's he up to now, etc. (I hear he's tried some stand-up for example, and did he ever once mention the film?)

I think Anthony managed to coax just one single laugh from me during this entire week. (Using Clay's "I'm not going to argue with myself!") He really needs to stop it with the drinking and screaming, unless he wants this to be LFTC pay TV. Honestly, I'd never pay for something like this. Maybe it will get better, but so far it's not been good...

more interesting than funny, but it was almost always interesting, except for the Dice interview, which was unintentionally hilarious, thanks to being able to drunkenly goof on it via a chat someone here set up (thanks for that!)

I'm hopeful the funny will come, and I'm hopeful the subject matter will branch out; movies, television, goofing on celebs for non-political reasons, books, video games, etc.

But even if the show stays right where it is, I'll continue to subscribe.

This Cumia kid is on to something.

Didn't listen yet.

Ok.

Mediocre

that's high praise coming from danny
