My lawyer friend thinks Opie wouldn't of been fired for breech of contract had he resigned.

He said by Sirius firing Ant (his name being in the actual show title), that negates the original contract signed by Opie as part of the "Opie and Anthony show". He said any decent lawyer could of got him out of that contract simply by Sirius firing Ant. Now I don't blame Opie for staying because he's got a staff that has families, but that part seemed like BS. My friend could be wrong for sure. He said he called to ask Opie on air but was never put through.

Also the only other thing that bothers me is when they talk about the Clippers and how players and coaches should walk even though they're in contracts, and Jimmy saying the NFL players should speak out against the NFL over the Ray Rice situation. Just comes off as complete bullshit.

They talked for months about what people should do with the apology clock thing, and then the company they work for fires their co worker over similar bullshit, and they all stay because of money. Money is why people apologize, so I don't want to hear Jim's and Op's righteous takes on the subject anymore. Again I dont blame them for staying, but just don't be such hypocrites.

Oh he's familiar with the stipulations of Opie and Anthonys contracts? No? Then shut up. Yeah he could take it to court and probably win, or we could lose, or he could take 3 more months of garunteed salary with Anthonys blessing and then not resign in October meanwhile figuring out what he wants to do. If he loses in court he could get slapped with a no compete and then buh-bye radio career. Use your fucking head. Anyone who's not a moron would do exactly what Opie and Jimmy did.

I'm sure Opie's lawyer totally overlooked the title of the show

Does your lawyer friend know the difference between "of" and "have?"

"You're honor, I move that the court dissolve this contract on account of Sirius all of the sudden fired half of the show!"

What do you do for a living character?

Okay, Terrific!

Hey, some anonymous guy on the internet's who said his friend is a lawyer said....

as selfish as what ant did, it would have been more selfish for Op and Jim to walk. WIthout them erock and travis would have been fired. Maybe not erock but def travis.

Didn't know Opie and Jim's contract were public.

Why walk and risk the possibility of getting sued when you can wait out a month and a half and walk free and clear? There is a difference between being taking a legal risk or just being safe.

How are they being hypocrites? Ant didn't apologize. They didn't apologize for him. I guarantee the company has given them leeway to talk about it but hasn't given them a no holds barred right to talk about it however they want.

I just realised that if you take the (-) out of re-signed it gives the word the opposite meaning.

Opie and Jim are doing precisely the right thing in staying with SiriusXM; and they're doing exactly what Ant would have (and should have) done were the situation reversed.

This is getting really old. Both Opie (& Jim) and Anthony are, if you haven't noticed, moving on. We should as well.
